He is credited by name as composer of 152 Phish original songs, 141 of them as a solo credit, in addition to 41 credits attributed to the band as a whole.

Best Reason to Buy the Sun is a 2005 album from the Benevento-Russo Duo. Made up of only Joe Russo and Marco Benevento, playing only Keyboards and Drums, the Duo's debut studio recording is remenisent of Medeski, Martin & Wood or late Phish, to such a degree that Mike Gordon, of Phish, toured with the Duo following the release of the album. This album builds on the live work that the Duo has been doing since the release in 2003 of Darts, a live album from the Knitting Factory.

Joe Russo is an American drummer and half of the Benevento/Russo Duo. He has toured, performed and recorded with a number of other bands, including Cass McCombs, A Big Yes and a Small No, Fat Mama, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, Bustle In Your Hedgerow, Younger Brother, Shpongle, Tom Hamilton's American Babies, the Trey Anastasio/ Mike Gordon duo, the Gene Ween Band, and Furthur. He also plays with the Shpongle Live Band. In 2013 he formed a Grateful Dead tribute band called Joe Russo's Almost Dead.
Live Phish Vol. 1 was recorded live at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, New York on December 14, 1995. The show occurred towards the end of the band's 1995 fall tour, which featured a tour-long chess game between Phish and its audience. The second disc begins with a fan making a chess move onstage on behalf of the audience.

Marco Benevento is an American pianist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer, who has been a fixture of the New York experimental music rock and jazz scene since 1999. He is the founder and recording engineer of Fred Short, a recording studio in Upstate New York, and a member of the rock groups Benevento/Russo Duo and Joe Russo's Almost Dead, both of which feature his regular musical collaborator Joe Russo.
Bar 17 is Trey Anastasio's fifth solo studio album. It was the first release from his newly formed record label, Rubber Jungle Records. Work began on Bar 17 shortly after the breakup of Phish, but had to temporarily suspend the project due to the absence of producer Bryce Goggin. During the long hiatus in the middle of the album's production, Anastasio flew to Atlanta to record his 2005 album Shine, which was very pop-oriented and different from Anastasio's normal musical style. Bar 17 contains songs written over roughly three years by Anastasio, from the spring of 2003 to the spring of 2006.
Live from Bonnaroo 2005 is a double disc live album from Mike Gordon and the Benevento-Russo Duo recorded live at the fourth annual Bonnaroo Music Festival in June 2005. It is a limited edition release, available only on the Internet via Gordon's own personal website and also as a download on the Live Phish website.
The Green Sparrow is the second solo album from Phish bassist Mike Gordon, released August 5, 2008. It is his first solo album in five years. Gordon has also released a pair of studio albums with acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke, a live album with the experimental Benevento-Russo Duo, and a live DVD with Grateful Dead offshoot Rhythm Devils.
The 2006 festival ran from June 15–18. The headliners for the 2006 festival included Radiohead, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Beck, and Phil Lesh and Friends. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band was featured in their own tent for three days and nights. 80,000 tickets, sold out. Radiohead's Ed O'Brien has described the band's headlining set as one of their best performances.
Darts is a 2003 album from the Benevento/Russo Duo. Made up of only Marco Benevento and Joe Russo, the album contains the two playing only keyboards and drums, respectively. It was recorded live at the Knitting Factory and the Tribeca Rock Club, both venues in New York City.
The Grateful Dead were an American rock band known for their lengthy, partially improvised performances, as well as for a loyal fan base who often followed the band for several shows or entire tours. They disbanded in 1995, following the death of de facto bandleader Jerry Garcia. Since then remaining members have reunited for a number of concert tours and one-off performances, often in very different configurations. The Peach Music Festival is a music festival started by the Allman Brothers Band and Live Nation Entertainment that has been held annually since 2012 at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain and Montage Mountain Ski Resort in Scranton, Pennsylvania. One exception was in 2020.
Joe Russo's Almost Dead is an American rock band formed in 2013 that mainly covers the music of the Grateful Dead. Formed by Furthur and Benevento/Russo Duo drummer Joe Russo, the band played their first show on January 26, 2013 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to drummer Joe Russo, the band also includes Ween's bassist Dave Dreiwitz, keyboardist Marco Benevento, Scott Metzger on guitar and vocals, and Tom Hamilton of Brothers Past, Ghost Light, and American Babies on guitar and vocals.
