Benji the Dove is a 2018 film starring Gerald Jones, Blake Bergman and Steven Braunstein. [1] The film was co-written and directed by Kevin Arbouet. [2]
A tender tale of four boys who are rapidly coming to terms with school, bullies, friendship, and loyalty. Not to be limited by a poor upbringing, they tap their immense creativity to create The Order of the Red Dragon, a brotherhood of knights determined to fight injustice with justice.
The project was announced in 2015 with Kevin Arbouet attached to direct. It adapts Friðrik Erlingsson’s 1992 novel, Benjamín dúfa (Benjamin the Dove), which previously served as the basis for the 1995 movie of the same name.
Benji the Dove premiered at the 2017 Bentonville Film Festival, an event known for its focus on diversity and inclusion in media. [3] The film was later made available on streaming platforms.
Family review site Dove.org described the film as “a heartfelt story about friendship and growing up,” awarding it a Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and up. [4]
