Golden Bell for Best Host in a Variety Programme (Chinese :金钟奖综艺节目主持人奖) is the main category of Competition of Golden Bell Awards.

The Golden Bell Awards is an annual Taiwanese television production award presented in October or November each year by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, a division of Taiwan's Ministry of Culture. It is the first television production award in Chinese circulation, founded in 1965, and Taiwan's equivalent to the Emmy Awards. It is also one of the three major annual awards presented in Taiwan, along with the Golden Melody Awards for music and the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards for movies and films. The awards were presented by the Government Information Office until 2011.

The Golden Rooster Awards are awards in film given in mainland China. The awards were originally given annually, beginning in 1981. The name of the award came from the year of the Rooster in 1981. Award recipients receive a statuette in the shape of a golden rooster, and are selected by a jury of filmmakers, film experts, and film historians. The awards are given out by the China Film Association.
The Golden Melody Awards, commonly abbreviated as GMA, is an honor awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan to recognize outstanding achievement in the Mandarin, Taiwanese, Hakka, and Formosan-languages popular and traditional music industry. The GMAs are awarded on the basis of votes by members of jury, and it has constantly been recognized as the equivalent to the Grammy Awards in Chinese-speaking world. It shares recognition of the music industry as that of the other performance awards such as the Golden Bell Awards (television) and the Golden Horse Awards.

From 2005, the Golden Rooster Awards and Hundred Flowers Awards take place on alternate years, but the Golden Rooster Award for Lifetime Achievement Award is still made annually.
