David Essex is an English musician, singer-songwriter, and actor. Since the 1970s, he has attained 19 Top 40 singles in the UK and 16 Top 40 albums. Internationally, Essex had the most success with his single "Rock On". He has also had an extensive career as an actor.
Talamasca are a psychedelic trance music project based in Paris, France. It is a project of Cédric Dassulle, also known as DJ Lestat. Dassulle played piano for over 13 years and started his career as DJ in 1992. In 1995/96 he was resident DJ at the Rex Club in Paris. He was influenced by trance music that he played during parties and wanted to create his own. In 1996 he met the other co-founders Steve Eli and Xavier de Galloy, house music producers with their own music studio. Together they decided to cooperate on a trance project and founded Talamasca. Dassulle currently operates it as a solo project. His stage name is inspired by the Rice character Lestat. Dassulle has worked with other psytrance artists, including Nomad, Oforia, Space Cat, and Xerox. Talamasca also participated in founding the psytrance Label 3D Vision together with Christof Drouillet, DJ Mael and Javier Galloy. In 2004 Dassulle started his own label, Mind Control Records.
A megamix is a medley remix containing multiple songs in rapid succession. There may be only one verse or even just a brief chorus of each song used, sometimes in addition to samples of the same or other songs. To unify the songs together smoothly, a single backing beat may be added as background throughout the megamix, although this is not a must. This backing beat is kept basic so as to simplify mixing and to not compete with the music. These mixes are usually several minutes long at minimum, going up to a half-hour or an hour, or even more sometimes.

It was originally written for the Joan Crawford film Sadie McKee (1934) when it was played during the opening credits and later sung by Gene Raymond three times. Psydub or ambient dub is a fusiongenre of electronic music that has its roots in psychedelic trance, ambient and dub music. Incorporated dub elements are melodic basslines, deep reggae roots and producing techniques like dynamically adding extensive echo, reverb, panoramic delay, and occasional dubbing of vocal or instrumental snippets from the original version or other works. An incorporated ambient element is an emphasis on tone and atmosphere. Incorporated psytrance elements are low-bass frequencies and hypnotic melodies and the use of samples. Those samples mostly contain references to drugs, parapsychology, extraterrestrial life, existentialism, out of body experiences, dreams, science, time travel, spirituality and similar mysterious and unconventional topics. Psydub is also highly influenced by Music of India.
