Biology was a creation of From Autumn To Ashes drummer Francis Mark (guitar and vocals), Every Time I Die bassist Josh Newton (guitar), producer Brian McTernan (bass) and Cornbread Compton of Engine Down (drums).

Francis Mark is known as the lighter, more melodic, side of From Autumn To Ashes, and Biology's music reflects this clearly.

Making Moves, Biology's only album, was released September 27, 2005, via Vagrant Records.

Biology announced a breakup on April 4, 2008.

The album is unique in that it features the dual vocals of Benjamin Perri and drummer Francis Mark. Perri provides the hardcore-esque shouts while Mark sings and occasionally contributes background screams. The album was reissued in 2005 with the Sin, Sorrow, and Sadness demo as bonus tracks at the end.

Engine Down was an American rock band from Richmond, Virginia, active from 1996 to 2005. They were a part of the Washington, D.C. area post-hardcore movement, along with bands like The Dismemberment Plan, Q and Not U, and Faraquet. The lineup included Keeley Davis on guitar and vocals, Jason Wood on bass and vocals, Jonathan Fuller on guitar and backup vocals, and Cornbread Compton on drums. In early recordings, Wood and founding member Jeremy Taylor served as primary lead vocalists, but later in their career the duties of lead singer switched primarily to Davis.

Josh Newton is an American musician, perhaps best known for his tenure as the bassist in Every Time I Die. He is also the singer and guitarist of The Great Fire of Sixteen Sixty Six. Newton was a member of the following rock bands: Shiner, From Autumn To Ashes, Biology, Glazed Baby, Season to Risk, Iron Rite Mangle, Creamy, Shots Fired, The Damned Things, and Reggie and the Full Effect. Newton also did a tour playing rhythm guitar for Unsane in 1994 with Today Is The Day.

Francis Mark Musical artist

Francis Mark is an American drummer, singer, guitarist, songwriter and artist known as a member of the bands From Autumn to Ashes, Warship, Biology, and Tidal Arms. Mark currently resides in Brooklyn, New York and plays with Tidal Arms. Before From Autumn To Ashes, he was in a local band named Who's to Blame with Scott Gross. Mark has also filled in for vocalist Jeffrey Moreira at a handful of Poison the Well shows in September 2001 and played drums for Reggie and the Full Effect in 2008.

Warship was a post-hardcore band formed in Long Island in 2008. Former From Autumn to Ashes members Francis Mark and Rob Lauritsen formed the band following the From Autumn to Ashes' announced indefinite hiatus on June 9, 2008. Mark chose the name Warship, which came from an instance in 2007 when he was creating paintings on blank worship candles, and a friend questioned what he was doing. Mark replied with "making worship candles", however, the friend believed Mark was creating candles with actual warships depicted on them. Mark explains, "This led me to thinking about the relationship between the two. How discouraging it is when 'worship' begets 'warships.'"

Supply and Depend is the first full-length release by Warship, the band founded by Fran Mark and Rob Lauritsen, formerly of the now defunct From Autumn to Ashes. It was released on November 4, 2008 on Vagrant Records and features 10 tracks the band recorded with producer Andrew Schneider over the summer. Almost all of the songs from the album were played live on the band's recent tour with Reggie and the Full Effect.
