Sherwood Forest is a royal forest in Nottinghamshire, England, famous by its historic association with the legend of Robin Hood.

From 2007 to 2017 he was the William Kretzer Distinguished Professor of Public Policy in the School of Public and International Affairs at North Carolina State University. His work continues to focus on public policy theory, primarily in the fields of disasters, accidents, and homeland security.

It was lost to history until its rediscovery in 2005 by the husband and wife team Lynda Mallett and Stuart Reddish, who are local history enthusiasts. As a result of continued research, Thynghowe is now included on the English Historic England Archive.
Mr. Perrin and Mr. Traill is a 1948 British drama film directed by Lawrence Huntington and starring Marius Goring, David Farrar, Greta Gynt, Edward Chapman and Raymond Huntley. It is based on the 1911 novel of the same title by Hugh Walpole. Walpole based the novel on his experiences as a teacher at Epsom College, but shifted the school's setting to the Cornish coast.

Big Rich Texas is an American reality television series on the Style Network that premiered on July 17, 2011. The show is filmed in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. The series follows five wealthy Texas women and their daughters. The first season of the show premiered on July 17, 2011 following a spin off from the show Dallas Divas and Daughters that originally aired in 2009 on Bravo TV and The Style Network. The second season debuted February 19, 2012 with new cast members: Deyanni, Amber and Shaye. In 2014 Season 4 was green lit and ready for production. The network negotiated bringing back Pamela Martin-Duarte and a new cast, with co star Bon Blossman and her daughter Whitney moving on to Whitney's Having a Baby. Subsequently Big Rich Texas season 4 was put on hold due to the decision by NBC Universal to replace the Style Network with Esquire Channel in order to increase their much needed programming for Men. 3000 jobs were cut out at the Style Network due to the network changes.

Henry Birkland, was a Canadian Spitfire pilot who was taken prisoner during the Second World War. He took part in the 'Great Escape' from Stalag Luft III in March 1944, but was one of the men re-captured and subsequently murdered by the Gestapo.
Joan Packard Birkland was an American athlete and women's sports advocate. Considered one of Colorado's greatest all-around athletes, she earned multiple titles in women's amateur tennis and golf championships at the city and state level. Following her retirement from competition, she served on numerous sports boards and became involved in sports education for disabled youth. She was inducted into the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame in 1977, the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 1981, and the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 1996.

Robin Hood's Larder was a veteran tree in Sherwood Forest that measured 24 feet (7.3 m) in circumference. The tree had long been hollow and is reputed to have been used by the legendary outlaw Robin Hood and others as a larder for poached meat. It was badly burnt by fire in the late 19th century and again in 1913. The tree fell in a gale in 1961 and no trace of it remains.
