Biswajit Ghosh (born 8 April 1958) is a Bangladeshi professor,essayist and researcher. [1] He is a professor of the Bangla Department at Dhaka University and Incumbent Vice-Chancellor of the Rabindra University. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2011 and Ekushey Padak in 2019 for his contributions in research. [2] [3]
Ghosh was born on 8 April 1958 at Kamarkathi village in Barisal of the then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). [4] He earned his PhD from Dhaka University in 1995. [5]
Ghosh started his career as a lecturer at the Bangla Department of Dhaka University on 1 February 1984. [5] He has been appointed by the Ministry of Education as the first Vice Chancellor of Rabindra University on 11 June 2017 for four years. [6] He wrote and edited more than 50 books. [3]
Muhammad Habibur Rahman was a Chief Justice of Bangladesh Supreme Court in 1995. He was the Chief Adviser of the 1996 caretaker government which oversaw the Seventh parliamentary elections in Bangladesh. He was a faculty member at the Department of Law,University of Rajshahi and University of Dhaka. Besides,being a language activist,advocate of the Bengali language,he wrote extensively and published eight books on the subject. He played a significant role to implement Bengali in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He wrote Jathashabdo (1974),the first thesaurus in the Bengali language.
Syed Ali Ahsan was a Bangladeshi poet,writer and university academic. He was awarded Ekushey Padak (1982) and Independence Day Award (1987) by the Government of Bangladesh. In 1987,he was selected as the National Professor of Bangladesh. He was credited as the official English translator of the National Anthem of Bangladesh.
Rahat Khan was a Bangladeshi journalist and litterateur. He wrote more than 32 novels. He won Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1973 and Ekushey Padak in 1996 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Rabeya Khatun was a Bangladeshi novelist. She wrote over 50 novels and more than 400 short stories. Her works also include essays,research,religious history and travelogues. Razia Khan Amin was a Bangladeshi writer,poet and educationist. She was also a journalist,theatre actor and columnist for newspapers. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1997 for her contribution to education by the Government of Bangladesh.
Selina Hossain is a Bangladeshi novelist and the current president of Bangla Academy since February 2022. Her major works include Hangor Nodi Grenade (1976) and Poka Makorer Ghor Boshoti (1996). She earned all major national awards –Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1980,Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2018. Her novels and short stories have been translated into English,Russian,French,Japanese,Korean,Finnish and Malay. She served as the chairperson of Bangladesh Shishu Academy from 2014 until 2018.

Syed Akram Hossain is a Bangladeshi academic scholar. He is known for his research and analysis of Rabindranath Tagore's work,which makes him an important part of Bangladesh literature. He was awarded Rabindra Purushkar in 2016 by the Bangla Academy and Ekushey Padak in 2017 by the Government of Bangladesh in the research category.
Papia Sarwar is a Bangladeshi singer. She is an exponent of Rabindra Sangeet,the songs written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore. She earned Rabindra Award from Bangla Academy in 2013,Bangla Academy Fellowship in 2015 and Ekushey Padak in 2021.
Ahmed Rafiq is a Bangladeshi language movement activist,writer and researcher on Rabindranath Tagore and his literature. He achieved Ekushey Padak in 1995 by the Government of Bangladesh. Tagore Research Institute in Kolkata conferred the Rabindratattacharya title on him in 2011.
Burhanuddin Khan Jahangir was a Bangladeshi academic and writer. He was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1969 and the Ekushey Padak in 2009.
Abdul Haque was a Bangladeshi essayist,journalist and writer. He served as a deputy director of the Bangla Academy,a government-funded regulatory institution. He was posthumously awarded an Ekushey Padak in language and literature in 2011.
Subrata Barua is a Bangladeshi writer. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1983. In recognition of his contribution to Bengali language and literature,the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2018. He served as the director of the Bangla Academy.
