Bloodsoaked is an American death metal band from North Carolina. Formed in 2006 by Peter Hasselbrack as a one-man project, Bloodsoaked is known for a style of death metal strongly inspired by the originators of the style, such as Death, Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Deicide, Sepultura and Morbid Angel.

Background

Bloodsoaked’s music is best described as old-school death metal with some modern influences. The lyrics tend to be heavily gore and horror influenced as well as anti-religious views. Their band name came from the underground death metal web site Bloodsoaked Promotions that ran from 1996 to 2004 as well as Bloodsoaked Records, both created and run by Peter Hasselbrack.

History

Peter started Bloodsoaked, and in February 2007 signed to Comatose Music and released their first album Brutally Butchered in April 2007. Their second album Sadistic Deeds... Grotesque Memories was released on Comatose Music in April 2009. Their third album The Death of Hope was released in August 2011 on Comatose Music and features guest guitar solos by James Murphy. Both Sadistic Deeds... Grotesque Memories and The Death of Hope were mixed and mastered by Shane McFee, who also programmed drums for both albums. The Death of Hope was recorded at The Basement Studio with Jamie King. In February 2012 Bloodsoaked added Joseph Darling as second guitarist/vocalist. September 2014 Bloodsoaked released Religious Apocalypse on Comatose music. In 2015 Joseph left the band leaving Bloodsoaked a one-man band again. In 2018 Bloodsoaked released Desolate Paradise as a digital only (download/streaming) album.

Suffocation (band) American death metal band

Suffocation is an American death metal band formed in 1988 in Centereach, New York, consisting of lead guitarist Terrance Hobbs, bassist Derek Boyer, rhythm guitarist Charlie Errigo, drummer Eric Morotti, and vocalist Ricky Myers. The band rose to prominence with the 1991 debut album Effigy of the Forgotten, which became a blueprint for death metal in the 1990s. Since then, Suffocation has recorded a further seven albums. These feature growled vocals with downtuned guitars, fast and complex guitar riffs and drumming, open chord notes and occasional breakdowns.

Possessed (band) American death metal band

Possessed is an American death metal band, originally formed in 1983. Noted for their fast style of playing and Jeff Becerra's growled vocals, they are often called the first band in the death metal genre, and paved the way for the 1980s Bay Area thrash metal scene, along with Metallica, Exodus, Testament and Death Angel. The band is also notable for featuring future Primus member Larry LaLonde, who was the lead guitarist for Possessed from 1984 to 1987.

Nymphetamine is the sixth studio album by Cradle of Filth. Recorded between February and July 2004, it was released on 28 September by record label Roadrunner. Nymphetamine marks the first recorded appearance of guitarist James McIlroy on a Cradle of Filth album. He would later record guitar for the band's 2010 release Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa. Nymphetamine is also the band's final album to feature keyboardist Martin Powell.

Cradle of Filth discography

Cradle of Filth was formed in Suffolk, England, in 1991. The band's original members consisted of vocalist Dani Filth, guitarist Paul Ryan, keyboardist Ben Ryan, bassist John Pritchard and drummer Darren Gardner. With this line-up, Cradle of Filth recorded a demo in 1992, titled Invoking the Unclean. Soon after, they recorded their second demo, Orgiastic Pleasures Foul with new guitarist Robin Eaglestone and new drummer Was Sarginson. Robin left the band shortly afterwards, but following the departure of John Pritchard, Eaglestone returned to take his place as bassist. Guitarist Paul Allender joined the band at the same time. Following these changes, another demo was recorded, titled Total Fucking Darkness. Sarginson left the band soon after, paving the way for the entry of drummer Nicholas Barker.

The band formed in 2006 and has since released an EP and three full-length albums, the latest of which, Titan was released on 11 October 2019. Khemmis (band) American heavy metal band
