Bobby Jon Drinkard (born May 10, 1977) was a contestant on Survivor: Palau and Survivor: Guatemala . Bobby Jon graduated from Troy University in Troy, Alabama, in 2003 with a degree in journalism. While at Troy, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bobby Jon is currently the host and producer of a statewide television show broadcast in Alabama called On the Job.

Survivor: Palau is the tenth season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. The season filmed from October 27, 2004 through December 4, 2004 and premiered on February 17, 2005. Filming took place in Koror, Palau. Hosted by Jeff Probst, it consisted of the usual 39 days of gameplay with 20 competitors, the most the series ever began with.

<i>Survivor: Guatemala</i> season of television series

Survivor: Guatemala — The Maya Empire is the eleventh season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. Filming took place from June 27, 2005 through August 4, 2005 and the season premiered on September 15, 2005. It was filmed in the Yaxhá-Nakúm-Naranjo National Park near the more popular Tikal National Park, located in northern Guatemala. Originally, the season was scheduled to be filmed in a location on the Indian Ocean, with scouting taking place in Madagascar, Southern India and Sri Lanka. However, due to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, the plans were scrapped.

Palau

In Survivor: Palau , Bobby Jon was a member of the ill-fated Ulong tribe, which lost every immunity challenge. Drinkard survived seven tribal councils before losing an elimination duel with Stephenie LaGrossa in the eighth episode, and was the tenth person eliminated from the game. He was the third contestant in Survivor: Palau to be eliminated without being voted out, and the 8th person to be eliminated without being voted out since Survivor's start in 2000.

Stephenie LaGrossa is a former contestant on Survivor: Palau, where she placed 7th, Survivor: Guatemala, where she placed second and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, where she was the second person voted out and placed 19th. She was one of the most popular players ever to play the game, with her popularity peaking at 97%. LaGrossa was an In-Arena host for the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL, and currently works for the radio station WRDW-FM. She is also one of the owners of GIGI Restaurant & Lounge in Old City, Philadelphia.

Guatemala

Bobby Jon and Stephenie LaGrossa were invited back as contestants on Survivor: Guatemala , thus becoming the second and third contestants in Survivor history to compete in two consecutive seasons (the first being Rupert Boneham). Drinkard was the 10th person voted off, becoming the first member of the jury, which was a point in the game he had always wanted to reach.

Rupert Boneham is an American mentor for troubled teens, who became known to reality television audiences in 2003 as a contestant on Survivor: Pearl Islands where he placed eighth. He later appeared on the All Stars, Heroes vs. Villains, and Blood vs. Water seasons of Survivor, placing fourth, sixth, and 20th, respectively. He was ultimately a fan favorite among Survivor viewers, who voted him a million dollar winner on Survivor: America's Tribal Council, a special episode of Survivor: All-Stars. The prize was awarded after a nationwide popular vote in which Boneham received 85% of the votes cast.

During this season, he and fellow competitor Jamie Newton engaged in a rivalry in their opposing tribes' challenges and during the individual immunity challenges. The two seemed to end their dispute when they were both on the jury, and are reportedly now good friends.

On The Job

On January 20, 2008, Drinkard became one of the hosts of On The Job a weekly television show on Alabama Public Television. [1] In each episode of the show, Drinkard takes on a certain job to show what it requires, which helps to give information to people looking for employment opportunities. Some of the jobs featured during the show's run have included a firefighter and a catfish farmer.
