Boekensleutel

The Boekensleutel is a Dutch literary award infrequently awarded by the Dutch organisation Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek. The Boekensleutel is awarded to books that stand out due to their genre, techniques used or for reasons that aren't traditionally covered by other literary awards. Books that are translated into Dutch are also eligible for the award.

A literary award is an award presented in recognition of a particularly lauded literary piece or body of work. It is normally presented to an author.

The Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek is a Dutch organization that includes representatives of bookstores and publishers, whose goal is to promote Dutch literature.

Miep Diekmann Dutch writer of childrens literature

Miep Diekmann was a Dutch writer of children's literature.

Janet Ahlberg, née Janet Hall, and Allan Ahlberg were a British married couple who created many children's books, including picture books that regularly appear at the top of "most popular" lists for public libraries. They worked together for 20 years until Janet died of cancer in 1994. Allan wrote the books and Janet illustrated them. Allan Ahlberg has also written dozens of books with other illustrators.

The Jolly Postman or Other People's Letters is an interactive children's picture book by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. The innovative project required five years to complete, and much discussion with both the publisher Heinemann and the printer before it was issued in 1986. The first subject heading assigned by WorldCat is "Toy and movable books". Little, Brown published a U.S. edition in the same year.

The Bookspot Literatuurprijs is a prize for literature in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is awarded to authors writing in Dutch and amounts to €50,000. The ceremony is televised live each year. The prize was conceived in 1986 and inaugurated the following year with the aim to promote literature and increase the public's interest in books.

The Woutertje Pieterse Prijs is an annual Dutch literary award for the best children's book of the preceding year.

The Toneelschrijfprijs is an annual literary award awarded to the playwrights of a Dutch language play that debuted in the preceding season. The award ceremony is held in either Flanders or the Netherlands. The winner of the prize receives €10,000. The prize was first awarded in 1988 as the Nederlands-Vlaamse Toneelschrijfprijs.
