Music for a Slaughtering Tribe is the third release and first full-length album by the German electro-industrial project Wumpscut.

Electro-industrial is a music genre that emerged from industrial music in the mid-1980s. While EBM has a minimal structure and clean production, electro-industrial tends to have a grittier, complex and layered sound. The style was pioneered by Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Numb and other groups, either from Canada or the Benelux. In the early 1990s, the style spawned the dark electro genre, and in the mid-/late-1990s, the aggrotech offshoot. The fan base for the style is linked to the rivethead subculture.

21st Circuitry was a record label based in San Francisco, California that was founded in early 1991 and released electro-industrial, industrial rock, and similar styles of music. The label signed a number of artists, including, Covenant, Unit:187, and Xorcist, as well as releasing a number of compilation albums targeted at the industrial scene. Some releases were distributed via other labels, including Caroline Records and Metropolis Records. In 1999, 21st Circuitry shut its doors and its remaining stock was purchased by Metropolis Records.

Blutkind is a double album released in 2000 by the German industrial group Wumpscut. The album is mostly a collection of Wumpscut's earliest material, save the new tracks 'Hang Him Higher' and 'Praise Your Fears'. Some tracks are taken from Wumpscut's original demo tapes in 1991 and 1992 and some are remixes from "Music for a Slaughtering Tribe". There are also 17 or so previously unreleased old tracks. The original tapes are: 'Defcon' and 'Small Chambermusicians'.
