Bully Records was an independent record label founded in 2002 in Montreal. It is maintained, funded, and run by Marc-Olivier Boileau (Marco). The label first released mostly 7-inch singles and EPs, but has since expanded to release CDs, box sets, and DVDs.

Contents

Most of Bully's lineup consists mainly of hip hop producers. They have since branched out and released the work of instrumentalists from many different genres.

One example of their projects is Obsession, a compilation of rare psychedelic music from countries such as Peru, Turkey, India, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. It was compiled by Mike Davis, owner of Academy Records in New York City.

"Wooly Bully" is a song originally recorded by novelty rock and roll band Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs in 1964. Based on a standard 12-bar blues progression, it was written by the band's frontman, Domingo "Sam" Samudio. It was released as a single on the small Memphis-based XL label (#906) in 1964 and was picked up in 1965 by MGM. The song was recorded at Sam C. Phillips Recording Studio at 639 Madison Avenue in Memphis, the successor to Phillips' original Sun Studio. It proved to be the only recording made at the studio to achieve national success.

He is best known for his extensive work on the score for the acclaimed 2006 Rockstar Games video game Bully. He is currently working on an upcoming album Janktone Productions, composed primarily of cheap and fun home-made instruments, currently there is no definitive release date though.

The album was on the Billboard 200 charts for 2 weeks. In the first week, it debuted at #77 selling 6,500 copies. The week after, it fell down to #115 selling an additional 4,000 copies.
