A subterranean river is a river or watercourse that runs wholly or partly beneath the ground, one where the riverbed does not represent the surface of the Earth. It is distinct from an aquifer, which may flow like a river but is contained within a permeable layer of rock or other unconsolidated materials. A river flowing below ground level in an open gorge is not classed as subterranean.

The water infiltrates into the ground recharging the local groundwater, because the water table is below the bottom of the stream channel. This is the opposite of a more common gaining stream which increases in water volume farther downstream as it gains water from the local aquifer.

The Moldovan broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) organised the national final O melodie pentru Europa 2005 in order to select the Moldovan entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. 35 entries competed to represent Moldova in Kyiv, with 15 being shortlisted to participate in the televised national final which took place on 26 February 2005. "Boonika bate doba" performed by Zdob și Zdub emerged as the winner after gaining the most points following the combination of votes from a jury panel and a public televote.

The Buna is a short river in Bosnia and Herzegovina; it is a left bank tributary of the Neretva. Its source, a strong karstic spring, is near the village of Blagaj, southeast of Mostar. It is best known for the Buna Spring, one of the strongest springs in Europe and extremely cold water. The Buna flows west for approximately 9 km, starts at Blagaj and meandering through the villages of Blagaj, Kosor, Malo Polje, Hodbina and joins the Neretva at settlement Buna. The Bunica river is main left bank tributary of the Buna.

Its source, located in a place called Parila under sharp cliffs between the two villages of Hodbina and Malo Polje, is 14 km south from Mostar. It is a very deep and strong karstic spring and difficult to access. Together with the Buna river, it flows west for approximately 10 km and joins the Neretva river near the village of Buna. The Bunica is a main tributary of the Buna.

Onwards to Mars! is Fanfare Ciocărlia's eighth studio album. It was produced by Henry Ernst and Marc Elsner across 2015 and 2016. The bulk of the album was recorded at UNDA Recording studio in Bucharest, Romania. Additional recording was done at Popschutz Studio in Berlin, Germany, Merlin Producciones in Medellín, Colombia, and Fanfare Ciocărlia's home village of Zece Prajini, Romania. The London-based Israeli musician Koby Israelite wrote seven of the fourteen tracks on the album specifically for Fanfare Ciocărlia. Other tracks include traditional Romanian folk songs, Screaming Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" and the cumbia-influenced "Fiesta de Negritos". Fanfare Ciocărlia recorded the latter in Medellín with Puerto Candelaria.

The Zalomka is a karstic river in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as part of the Neretva river system it is one of the largest sinking rivers in the country and Dinarides. It rises under the Morine plateau, near Brajićevići village in Gacko municipality, but also collects its upper course waters from Gatačko Polje.
