Comet Bennett, formally designated as C/1974 V2, is a non-periodic comet that was seen in 1974. During its most recent perihelion, the comet was observed to split apart and disintegrate. [5]
On the morning of 13 November 1974, John Caister Bennett discovered his second comet as a diffuse 9th-magnitude object in the constellation Hydra using a 125 mm (4.9 in) refractor from Pretoria, South Africa. [a] He had spent a total of 482 hours searching for a new comet since his first discovery in 1969. At the time, the comet had no discernible coma nor tail, however Bennett was of the opinion it experienced an outburst lasting about five days just before discovery [6]
101P/Chernykh is a periodic comet which was first discovered on August 19, 1977, by Nikolaj Stepanovich Chernykh. It will next come to perihelion in 2034.
167P/CINEOS (P/2004 PY42) is a large periodic comet and active, grey centaur, approximately 66 kilometers (41 miles) in diameter, orbiting the Sun outside the orbit of Saturn. It was discovered on August 10, 2004, by astronomers with the CINEOS survey at Gran Sasso in Italy. It is one of only a handful known Chiron-type comets.
Comet NEAT, formally designated as C/2002 V1, is a non-periodic comet that appeared in November 2002. The comet peaked with an apparent magnitude of approximately –0.5, making it the eighth-brightest comet seen since 1935. It was seen by SOHO in February 2003. At perihelion the comet was only 0.0992 AU (14.84 million km) from the Sun, where it was initially expected to be disintegrated, however reanalysis of its orbit has indicated that it has survived many of its previous perihelia, thus making breakup unlikely.
51983 Hönig (provisional designation 2001 SZ8) is a Hildian asteroid from the outermost regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 13 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 19 September 2001, by astronomers Charles Juels and Paulo Holvorcem at the Fountain Hills Observatory (678) in Arizona, United States. The asteroid was named after German astronomer Sebastian Hönig.

The Great Southern Comet of 1887, or C/1887 B1 using its International Astronomical Union (IAU) designation, was a bright comet seen from the Southern Hemisphere during January 1887. Later calculations indicated it to be part of the Kreutz Sungrazing group. It came to perihelion on 11 January 1877 at a distance of 0.00483 AU (723 thousand km) with a velocity of 606.1 km/s. Since the Sun has a radius of 696000 km, the comet passed about 27000 km from the surface of the Sun.
C/2017 O1 (ASASSN) is a comet discovered by the All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae (ASAS-SN). It was first detected on July 19, 2017, located in the southern constellation Cetus.
