CBV-Index is divided into 10 indices of the ten major industries of Vietnam economy (based on ICB-Industry Classification Benchmark, developed by FTSE and Dow Jones Limited, currently in use by NYSE).

It is used to segregate markets into sectors within the macroeconomy. The ICB uses a system of 10 industries, partitioned into 19 supersectors, which are further divided into 41 sectors, which then contain 114 subsectors.

It operates the well known UK FTSE 100 Index and the Russell 2000 as well as a number of other indices. FTSE stands for Financial Times Stock Exchange.
