History

The luxury clothing store was started in 1975, by Marilyn Rubinson, in Brooklyn New York. [1] By the early 2000s, the company had over 200 stores, in different malls across the country, including King Of Prussia Mall, Beachwood Mall,

and Southern Park Mall. The company failed to turn profits in 2011. In 2013, despite financial troubles, Cache opened a new flagship store located in The Fashion Show Mall, on the Las Vegas Strip. [2] In 2015, the company filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection, and announced they would be liquidating all stores, including the newly opened flagship store. [3] [4]

It is connected to the Caesars Palace resort, and both feature a Roman theme. The mall project was announced in 1987. It was developed and initially owned by The Gordon Company and Melvin Simon & Associates. The land had previously been used for the unsuccessful Caesars Palace Grand Prix. Construction of the Forum Shops began in 1990, and the project opened on May 1, 1992, with 240,000 sq ft (22,000 m2) of leasable space. An expansion opened in 1997. Simon subsequently took over full ownership, and another expansion was opened in 2004.
