Cain's Offering is a Finnish power metal supergroup that formed in 2008.
Cain's Offering was formed by former Sonata Arctica members Jani Liimatainen and Mikko Härkin, Stratovarius singer Timo Kotipelto, Norther and Wintersun bass player Jukka Koskinen and drummer Jani Hurula. [1] Their debut album Gather the Faithful was released in July 2009 through the Japanese label Marquee Inc.. [2] All music and lyrics were written by Liimatainen. [2] On June 25 the band announced that they have signed a deal with Frontiers Records and that their debut album will be released on August 28 in Europe and on September 11 in the USA. [3]
Many fans were asking about a tour, and this is what Jani said in an interview with "Power of Metal":
So far none, since as you probably know, Timo is very busy with Stratovarius now that they just released Polaris . Hopefully next year we get to do some live shows, as I would love to bring this material to life up on the stage as well. [4]
In June 2014, a new official Facebook page was created for Cain's Offering, and Jani mentioned that he plans to have a new Cain's Offering album written by September - according to him, he has four songs almost finished, and four more that he composed with Kotipelto. [5] At least two of them would be used in a future album by Cain's Offering or Stratovarius. [5]
On 5 March 2015, the title and tracklist of their second album was announced on the band's official Facebook page. [6] The album is called Stormcrow. The album was released on 15 May 2015 in Europe and on 19 May 2015 in North America. In Japan, the album was planned to be released on 29 April 2015. On 15 April, one month before the European release, the band released a lyric video of the first single called "I Will Build You a Rome". [7] The band surprised fans again on 22 April 2015 by releasing yet another song from the forthcoming album. This time it was the title track "Stormcrow". [8] Both songs are available for download on iTunes. The band also announced their first ever live performances at a mini-tour of two dates in Japan in 2016. [9]
Stratovarius is a Finnish power metal band that formed in the summer of 1984. Since their formation, they have released sixteen studio albums, five DVDs and six live albums. In its history, the band has gone through many chaotic lineup changes, and after founding guitarist Timo Tolkki's departure in 2008, there are no founding members of the band that remain. Currently, the longest standing member is singer Timo Kotipelto, who joined in 1994.
Silence is the second full-length album by Finnish power metal band Sonata Arctica, released in 2001 through Spinefarm Records. It is the only studio album to feature keyboardist Mikko Härkin, and the first album with original member Marko Paasikoski, who returned to the band the previous year. Stratovarius lead singer Timo Kotipelto sang guest vocals on the album.
Songs of Silence - Live in Tokyo is a live album by Finnish power metal band Sonata Arctica. Both Japanese and Korean versions have an exclusive cover art and one bonus track, and their first edition had a bonus CD containing three tracks.

Gather the Faithful is the debut studio album of Finnish power metal band Cain's Offering, an all-star project started by former Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen. It was recorded in 2009 in different studios in Finland and was released on July 22, 2009 in Japan via Avalon. On the band's website the band stated that they're "right now concentrating on the following European/US release, which most likely will be end of August" and that they're "in negotiations with a well-known label, and will soon be able to announce the deal and tentative release date." The album was mixed by Jimmy Westerlund in Los Angeles, Hollywood and mastered by Eddy Schreyer at Oasis Mastering, Los Angeles, Burbank. On June 25 the band announced that their debut album will be released on August 28 in Europe and on September 11 in the USA by Frontiers Records.
Elysium is the thirteenth studio album by power metal band Stratovarius, released on 12 January 2011 through Victor Entertainment (Japan) and on 14 January through Edel AG (worldwide). It is the last Stratovarius album to feature longtime drummer Jörg Michael, who left the band in 2012. Nemesis is the fourteenth studio album by power metal band Stratovarius, released on 22 February 2013 through Edel AG. It is the first Stratovarius album to feature new drummer Rolf Pilve, who replaced Jörg Michael in 2012. The album was first announced on the band's official website on 24 November 2012, with the track listing being revealed on 5 December 2012. Nemesis reached No. 3 on the Finnish albums chart. A preview of "Unbreakable", the album's first single, was made available on YouTube and was released on 25 January 2013.
