Christopher Carlos Clark (born November 7, 1996) is a Puerto Rican international footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for the colligate Albany Great Danes and the Puerto Rican national team. [1]

Personal life

Clark is the son of Chris Clark and Carmen Baker-Clark. Has three brothers as well as three step sisters. [2] While at Teaneck High School, Clark scored 36 goals and registered 32 assists as well as being the team captain for two years. [2]

Teaneck High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school in Teaneck, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Teaneck Public Schools. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1935.

International career

Clark was called up by Puerto Rican head coach Jack Stefanowski for June matches against the United States national team as well as the first round of 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification. [3] [4]

Jack Stefanowski is a Polish-born American football manager, formally head coach of the Nepal national football team and the former interim head coach of Puerto Rico national football team, also having coached various clubs in Puerto Rico. He is currently working as an assistant/goalkeeper coach for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League].

The United States Men's National Soccer Team (USMNT) is controlled by the United States Soccer Federation and competes in the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football. The team has appeared in ten FIFA World Cups, including the first in 1930, where they reached the semi-finals. The U.S. participated in the 1934 and 1950 World Cups, winning 1–0 against England in the latter. After 1950, the U.S. did not qualify for the World Cup until 1990. The U.S. hosted the 1994 World Cup, where they lost to Brazil in the round of sixteen. United States will co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup along with Canada and Mexico, the automatic qualification on all three teams is likely as co-hosts.

The 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification began in March 2016. The qualification competition determined which Caribbean national teams would play in the 2017 Caribbean Cup and the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
