Catherine Reline Amanang'ole (born 5 October 2002) is a Kenyan long-distance runner. She won a bronze medal in the half marathon at the 2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships in Riga. [1]
Amangang'ole finished fourth at the South American Half Marathon Championships in Buenos Aires on 21 August, 2022. [2] In December 2022, she won the Saint Silvester Road Race in São Paulo, Brazil, in a time of 49:39. [3] [4]
On 1 October 2023 she completed a Kenyan 1-2-3 at the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Riga, Latvia by finishing third in the half marathon in a time of 1:07:34, behind compatriots Peres Jepchirchir and Margaret Kipkemboi. [5] In December 2023, she won the Saint Silvester Road Race in São Paulo, Brazil once again in a time of 49:54. [6]
In September 2024, she finished third at the Copenhagen half marathon in 1:06:09. [7]
A half marathon is a road running event of 21.0975 kilometres —half the distance of a marathon. It is common for a half marathon event to be held concurrently with a marathon or a 5K race, using almost the same course with a late start, an early finish, or shortcuts. If finisher medals are awarded, the medal or ribbon may differ from those for the full marathon. Peres Jepchirchir is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who competes mainly in road running competitions. She won the gold medal in the women's marathon at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Jepchirchir was the champion at the 2016 and 2020 World Half Marathon Championships. She claimed victories at the 2021 New York City and 2022 Boston Marathon and finished third at the 2023 London Marathon. She claimed a further victory at the 2024 London Marathon, finishing in two hours, 16 minutes and 16 seconds and breaking the women’s only world record.
Jacob Kiplimo is a Ugandan long-distance runner. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Kiplimo won a bronze medal in the 10,000 m events. Kiplimo won gold medals in the 5000 m and 10,000 m events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and he won a silver and gold medal at the 2019 and 2023 World Cross Country Championships, respectively. He was also the winner of the 2020 World Half Marathon, and is the former world record holder in the half marathon, which he held from 2021 to 2024 with a time of 57:31.
Joyciline Jepkosgei is a Kenyan female long-distance runner who competes over distances from 10,000 metres to the marathon. She is the former half marathon world record holder in contests with mixed-gender fields with her personal best of 64:51 minutes, and additionally the former world record holder in the 10 km with 29:43 minutes. She was a bronze medallist over 10,000 m at the African Championships in Athletics in 2016. Jepkosgei ran a world record for the half marathon of 1:04:52 at the Prague Half Marathon in April 2017, becoming the first woman ever to break 65 minutes. She also unofficially broke the IAAF-ratified records for 10 km, 15 km and 20 km along the way, breaking a total of four world records in a single event. She became the first Kenyan ever to break six world records in six months.
Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi is a Kenyan long-distance runner. She won the silver medal for the 5000 metres at the 2019 World Championships and a bronze in the 10,000 metres at the 2022 World Championships. Kipkemboi took silver over the 5000 m at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

A flat, single-lap marathon course in the Baltics' largest city. All courses were traffic-free.
The São Paulo International Marathon is an annual road-based marathon hosted by São Paulo, Brazil, since 1995. It was categorized as a Bronze Label Road Race by the International Association of Athletics Federations, and is the first race in Brazil to have achieved this distinction.
