Cheltenham Racecourse railway station was located on the Outer Harbor line, serving Cheltenham Park Racecourse in Adelaide.
The station opened in 1895 as Cheltenham, serving both rail passengers and race-goers. In the early 1910s a siding with a step-down platform was provided east of Cheltenham Parade to provide direct access to the racecourse. This siding was used on race days only and closed a few decades later. In 1959, an island-platform station opened 500 metres outbound from the original station and was named Cheltenham. The original station was renamed Cheltenham Racecourse, and was restricted to raceday services only.
On 21 February 2009, Cheltenham Park Racecourse closed to make way for new housing developments, and in June 2012, the station was demolished. With the development of the suburb of St Clair on the former racecourse site, construction of St Clair station began in June 2013, with the station opening on 23 February 2014. [1] [2] [3] [4]

The Belair railway line is a suburban rail commuter route in the city of Adelaide, South Australia, that runs from the Adelaide station to Belair in the Adelaide Hills via the Adelaide-Wolseley line using diesel 3000/3100 class railcars. Prior to 1995, this part of Adelaide-Wolseley was a two-track broad gauge line. In 1995, Adelaide-Wolseley was converted to standard gauge meaning Adelaide to Belair is now effectively two separate single-track lines running in parallel: the Belair commuter line and the Adelaide-Wolseley standard gauge freight line.

Gretton Halt railway station was a halt opened by the Great Western Railway on the Honeybourne Line from Honeybourne to Cheltenham which served the small village of Gretton in Gloucestershire between 1906 and 1960. The line through the site of the station was reinstated in 1997 by the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, although no new halt was provided.

St Clair is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, and administered by the City of Charles Sturt. St Clair is geographically located with in the Hundred of Yatala, and was first recorded as the name for the suburb on 6 November 2012 by the Surveyor General of South Australia. The suburb is bounded by Cheltenham Parade, Torrens Road, Woodville Road and the Outer Harbor train line. The Cheltenham Park Racecourse was located here up until the late 2000s and new houses were built in the years after that.
