Christine Wyrtzen is a contemporary Christian musician whose music usually falls into the inspirational style.
She was nominated for a Dove Award in 1982. She hosts a daily radio program, Daughters of Promise. She has also written two books, Carry Me: Christine Wyrtzen's Discoveries on the Journey into God's Arms ( ISBN 0802428363) and Long Live the Child: Devotions Designed for Daughters of Promise ( ISBN 0310246520).

Promises, Promises is a musical that premiered in 1968, based on the 1960 film The Apartment. The music is by Burt Bacharach, with lyrics by Hal David and book by Neil Simon. Musical numbers for the original Broadway production were choreographed by Michael Bennett. Robert Moore directed, and David Merrick produced. The story concerns a junior executive at an insurance company who seeks to climb the corporate ladder by allowing his apartment to be used by his married superiors for trysts.

Mills rose to stardom as "Dorothy" in the original 7 Time Tony Award Winning Broadway run of the musical The Wiz from 1974 to 1979. The song "Home" from the show later became a Number 1 U.S. R&B hit for Mills and her signature song. During the 1980s, Mills scored five Number 1 R&B hits, including "Home", "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love", "I Feel Good All Over", "(You're Puttin') A Rush on Me" and "Something in the Way ". Mills won a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her song "Never Knew Love Like This Before" in 1981.

"Only You" is the debut single by English synth-pop duo Yazoo. It was written by member Vince Clarke, while still with Depeche Mode, but recorded it in 1982 after forming Yazoo with Alison Moyet. It was released as Yazoo's first single on 15 March 1982 in the United Kingdom, and became an instant success on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 2. It would also reach the top 10 in neighbouring Ireland as well as Australia. In the US, "Only You" was released as the band's second single in November 1982 and charted at number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also made the US Adult Contemporary chart.
