CiCi is the first extended play (EP) by American singer Ciara, released on August 18, 2023. [1] [2] It was promoted with the release of two singles: "How We Roll", and "Forever", which featured Chris Brown and Lil Baby respectively.
Ciara's seventh studio album, Beauty Marks , was released on May 10, 2019, through her independent record label, Beauty Marks Entertainment. In July 2022, it was announced that Ciara had signed a new partnership between Beauty Marks Entertainment and major labels, Republic Records and Uptown Records, under which she would release her eighth studio album. Through the joint venture, Ciara released the singles, "Jump" (featuring Coast Contra) and "Better Thangs" (featuring Summer Walker), in July and September 2022. However, her next single, "Da Girls", was released solely through her label in March 2023. [3]
On August 2, 2023, Ciara announced the release of the single, "How We Roll" (with Chris Brown); on August 4, 2023, Ciara announced that she would be releasing the EP CiCi on August 18, with "How We Roll" as its first track. [4] She premiered the tracklist on August 11, 2023, revealing that Lil Baby and Big Freedia would also feature on the EP. [5]
In an interview with Rated R&B , Ciara shared: "There's always an intentional tone of empowerment in my music [...] I always want to uplift my Queens and take them on my journey with me. There's no better platform to be able to accomplish that than through my music." [6] The album's opening track, "How We Roll", is a collaboration with Chris Brown and "finds the pair expressing their affection for each other over a laidback and groovy beat." The second track, "BRB", is a "nod to Jersey club bounce", featuring "fast-paced rhythm and kick drums"; the song finds Ciara singing about missing her significant other. Apple Music described "Type a Party", "Forever" and "2 in Luv" as traditional R&B and "Low Key" and "Winning" as uptempo. [7]
On August 4, 2023, Ciara released the single "How We Roll", in collaboration with Chris Brown. [8] A remix, featuring rapper Lil Wayne, was released on November 3, 2023. [9] [10]
On August 18, 2023, Ciara released a music video for "Forever", the EP's second single, featuring Lil Baby. [11] The video was directed by Taj and Dre. [12]

Shad Gregory Moss, better known by his stage name Bow Wow, is an American rapper and actor. His career began upon being discovered by rapper Snoop Dogg in the late 1990s, eventually being brought to record producer Jermaine Dupri and signed to So So Def Recordings. As Lil' Bow Wow, he released his first album at age 13, Beware of Dog, in 2000, which was followed by Doggy Bag a year later.

The song premiered at the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, which took place on October 10, 2009. However, the ceremony was aired on October 27, 2009. It was performed by Ludacris as the second half of a medley that began with Lil Scrappy's "Addicted to Money", a song in which he is featured. The track was produced by Canadian producer T-Minus. The song was released via iTunes on December 8, 2009. The song debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at 13. "Deuces" is a song written and performed by American singer Chris Brown featuring fellow American musicians Tyga and Kevin McCall. Produced by McCall, "Deuces" was released digitally on June 25, 2010, as the lead single from Brown's first collaborative effort with Tyga, titled Fan of a Fan (2010). The song is a slow, down-tempo R&B ballad featuring elements from the genres of house and pop music, while the song is lyrically about "breaking it off with a girl after failed attempts to make the relationship work". August Anthony Alsina Jr. is an American singer-songwriter from New Orleans, Louisiana. Brandon George Dickinson, better known by his stage name Lil Bibby, is an American rapper and record executive from Chicago, Illinois. Beginning his career in 2011, Bibby released his debut mixtape, Free Crack in 2013. The project was followed up with two sequels: Free Crack 2 (2014) and Free Crack 3 (2015) before he signed with Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records, an imprint of RCA Records. However, he released no studio albums under the label. He soon after switched focus onto forming his record label—Grade A Productions in 2017—through which he signed fellow Chicago native, rapper and singer Juice Wrld as well as Australian rapper and singer The Kid Laroi; both artists would go on to achieve success globally.
Symere Bysil Woods, known professionally as Lil Uzi Vert, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Born and raised in Philadelphia, they gained initial recognition following the release of the commercial mixtape Luv Is Rage (2015), which led to a recording contract with Atlantic Records, to whom they signed under DJ Drama's Generation Now imprint.
Destin Choice Route, better known by his stage name JID, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is a part of the musical collective Spillage Village, founded by EarthGang in 2010.
