The Sugar Bowl is an annual American college football bowl game played in New Orleans, Louisiana. Played annually since January 1, 1935, it is tied with the Orange Bowl and Sun Bowl as the second-oldest bowl games in the country, surpassed only by the Rose Bowl Game.

Pan American Stadium is a 5,000 seat multi-purpose outdoor stadium, located in City Park, in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is used for soccer, American football, lacrosse and rugby. It is currently home to the New Orleans Jesters of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and Motagua New Orleans of the Gulf Coast Premier League. Athletic Park was a sports stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana which opened in 1901. Some sources say the ballpark was located on the south side of Tulane Avenue between South Carrollton Avenue and South Pierce Street. The Sanborn map from 1908 shows the actual boundaries as Tulane Avenue, Scott Street, the proposed Gravier Street extension, and then railroad tracks and the canal ; and the proposed Pierce Street extension. Carrolton Avenue was a block west of Pierce.

The English Turn Golf and Country Club is a private golf course and country club in the southern United States, located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Formerly a venue of the PGA Tour, its par-72 championship course measures 7,078 yards (6,472 m) from the back tees. It is the home course for the Tulane Green Wave and the University of New Orleans Privateers college golf teams.
Nehemiah Atkinson (1918–2003) was a professional tennis player and tennis coach in New Orleans, Louisiana USA. He managed public tennis facilities in New Orleans and played competitive tennis into old age. He was particularly noted for teaching young African-Americans, especially the underprivileged, to play the sport of tennis.
Sammis Daniel Reyes Martel is a Chilean-born former professional American football tight end. He was the first player from Chile to play in the NFL. Reyes grew up playing basketball as a youth member of the Chile national team before moving to the United States on an athletic scholarship at 14. He played college basketball at Hawaii, Palm Beach State, Tulane, and Loyola–New Orleans, graduating with a Master of Business Administration degree with the latter.
