Colin O'Reilly (born 30 January 1984) is an Irish basketball coach and former player. He played Division III college basketball for Post University in the United States in the early 2000s [1] and later represented the Irish national team as both a player and as a player-coach.
On 26 March 2015, O'Reilly was named an inaugural Premier League All-Star First Pick alongside UCC Demons teammates Kyle Hosford and Lehmon Colbert. [2] Three days later, he helped Demons create Irish basketball history by winning the Champions Trophy and adding to their undefeated 2014–15 season. With a 24–0 record, the team also won the League and National Cup titles. In addition, O'Reilly earned Champions Trophy MVP honours after scoring 25 points in the final. [3] He was later named both Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for the 2014–15 season. [4] [5] In 2015–16, he helped Demons reclaim both the Premier League title and the Champions Trophy. [6]
On 22 June 2016, O'Reilly was appointed head coach of the Cheshire Phoenix for the 2016–17 British Basketball League season. [7] [8] However, after a poor start to the season, he parted ways with the club in December 2016. [9]
In July 2017, O'Reilly returned to UCC Demons as player-coach for the 2017–18 season. [10] [11] He parted ways with Demons after the 2018–19 season. [12]
In June 2019, O'Reilly joined Killorglin as player-coach for the 2019–20 season. [13] [14]
O'Reilly was set to serve as player-coach of Neptune for the 2020–21 season [15] before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [16] [17] He returned as player-coach of Neptune for the 2021–22 season. [18]
For the 2022–23 season, O'Reilly continued on as Neptune's head coach. [19] [20] He began the 2023–24 season as coach before being replaced in November 2023. [21]
O'Reilly was head coach of the Irish senior men's team from 2014 to 2016, helping them to a fourth-placed finish at the 2016 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries. [22]
In 2019, O'Reilly served as player-coach of the Irish 3x3 team at the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup. [23] [24]
In April 2022, O'Reilly was re-appointed coach of the Irish men's 3x3 team. [22] In March 2024, he was appointed coach of the Irish women's 3x3 team. [25]
O'Reilly's older brother, Niall, also plays basketball. [26] His sisters, Orla and Sinead, played college basketball for Binghamton University. After graduating, Orla went on to play professionally. [27]
O'Reilly is a former Cork senior hurling championship winner. He played for Blackrock and helped them win the 2002 Cork Senior Hurling Championship. [28]
Colin Healy is an Irish football manager and former player. He was appointed manager of Cork City F.C. in late 2020, and held the post until May 2023.

Kieran Donaghy is an Irish Gaelic footballer and basketball player. He plays for Tralee club Austin Stacks and, formerly, at senior level for the Kerry county team. Donaghy won four All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals, eight Munster Championships and three National League titles with Kerry, and is the recipient of three All Stars Awards. He announced his retirement from inter-county football on 11 September 2018. Donaghy is also a long-time basketball player, currently playing for Tralee Warriors in the Irish Super League.
Daniel J. Clifford, better known as Donal Clifford, is an Irish former hurler and manager. At club level he played with Cloyne and Glen Rovers and was also a member of the Cork senior hurling team. Regarded as one of Cork's greatest ever underage players, Clifford was the first player to wear protective headgear in a senior inter-county match.

With UCC Demons in the Irish Super League, he won two championships and multiple other trophies and was the league's Player of the Year in 2016. Between 2018 and 2020, he played for Neptune and served as player-coach in his second season.
Neptune Basketball Club is an Irish basketball club based in Cork. Founded in 1947 following input from members of the Irish Defence Forces in developing citizen's clubs, Neptune is the oldest and most successful basketball club in Ireland. Based at Neptune Stadium, Neptune is the only basketball club in Ireland with its own stadium.

The season featured 10 teams from across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with the regular season beginning on 4 October 2014 and ending on 15 March 2015. In 2014–15, UCC Demons created history in Irish basketball by becoming the first side ever to remain undefeated for an entire season. They claimed the end-of-season Champions Trophy on 29 March 2015 to add to their League and Cup titles in a campaign that saw them win 24 games in a row.
