Coronation Park is a multi-use stadium in Sunyani, Ghana, capable of holding 5,000 people, that is used mostly for football matches.

About

Coronation Park began development on eight acres of ground to honour the 1939 Coronation of George VI. It was intended for athletic activities, [1] and was used for those as well as public/political gatherings and festivities. [2] These have continued to be held to the modern day. [3] [4]

Coronation Park is a football stadium with a maximum capacity of 5000. In 2008, when Ghana hosted the Africa Cup. Coronation Park was renovated, however was not used as a competition venue. The refurbishment incorporated chairs brought from the Accra Sports Stadium [5] As of 2021, it was home ground for Division One clubs Brong Ahafo United, Bofoakwa Tano, Young Apostles, and (Women Premier League's) Prisons Ladies, as well as other lower grade ones. [6] It had previously been home ground for Bechem Chelsea (now Berekum Chelsea) until 2010 when they relocated to Golden City Park. [7]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, sales of crops were temporarily moved from Sunyani's central market to Coronation Park. [8] Coronation Park was to be renovated, however according to MP Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the Chinese contractors responsible died during the pandemic. [9] The park was not approved for Premier League use in the 2023-24 season. [10] Additionally, its seating and roofing have been heavily damaged in a March 2024 rainstorm. [11]

Other known clubs in the region are Aduana Stars(two time GPL champions), Berekum Chelsea, Young Apostles(BA United seed), DC United, Nsoatreman, Wamnafo might Royals, and few other clubs not mentioned.

Drobo is a town located in the Jaman South Municipality now in Bono Region of Ghana.

Bechem is a town and is the capital of Tano South district of the Ahafo of Ghana, and Bechem is the district capital for the Tano South Constituency. Bechem is located close to the capital town of Bono, Sunyani. The town is known for the Bechem Presbyterian Secondary School. The school is a second cycle institution. The town has one of the best teacher training colleges in the country known as St. Joseph college (JOSCO) and has Bechem school for the Deaf and Blind and Technical Institute for the Deaf. It has two villages known to be Techimantia and Derma which both stand tall when it comes to tomato production in the country.

Seikwa is a town located in Tain District, in Bono region, Ghana. As of 2010, Seikwa had a population of 9,166, consisting of 4,149 males and 5,017 females. The town is served by the Nkoranman Senior Secondary School.

Banda Ahenkro is a town located in the west-northern of Bono region, Ghana, near the border of Ivory Coast. Its geography provided a home for numerous groups seeking shelter from across West Africa during the slave trade era. The original name of the settlement was Serminakuu meaning groups of 'grasses'. This name was changed to Banda, which is a corruption of 'Woanda' meaning 'they did not sleep'. Ancestors of Banda Ahenkro were allies of the Asante kingdom during wars and they provided a military force that virtually refused to sleep during at-war times. This is because they were predominantly Muslims and were found praying throughout the night. Later, 'woanda' was also corrupted by the Bono neighbours to become Banda. The settlement evolved to become the chief town or 'Ahenkro' within a collection of Nafana communities.
