Cosimo Giorgio Schepis, known as Nuccio Schepis, (born April 23, 1955) is an Italian artist, sculptor, and art restorer. He took part in the Southern Italian Expressionist Movement called "I Mediterranei", which started in the 1980s.

He is also noted for playing a major role in the 2010–2011 restoration of the historic Riace bronzes (Italian : i Bronzi di Riace ).

The Riace bronzes, also called the Riace Warriors, are two full-size Greek bronze statues of naked bearded warriors, cast about 460–450 BC that were found in the sea in 1972 near Riace, Calabria, in southern Italy. The bronzes are now in the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia in the nearby city of Reggio Calabria. They are two of the few surviving full-size ancient Greek bronzes, and as such demonstrate the superb technical craftsmanship and exquisite artistic features that were achieved at this time.

Vincenzo Cuoco was an Italian writer. He is mainly remembered for his Saggio Storico sulla Rivoluzione Napoletana del 1799. He is a considered one of the precursors of Italian liberalism and the realist school. Cuoco adapted the critique of political rationalism of Edmund Burke and Joseph de Maistre for liberal ends, and has been described as a better historian than either of them. He influenced many subsequent Italian intellectuals, from Ugo Foscolo and Alessandro Manzoni to Bertrando and Silvio Spaventa to Benedetto Croce and Antonio Gramsci.

The Gilt Bronzes from Cartoceto di Pergola are the only surviving Roman gilt bronze equestrian group. The monumental ensemble was composed of at least two knights, of which only one remains, atop their horses, and two women standing. The statues are thought most likely to date between 50 and 30 BC and depict members of a prestigious local family. They were found not far from the intersection of the Via Flaminia and the Via Salaria Gallica in central Italy, in an isolated location, far from urban centres.
