Molodyozhnaya was a Soviet, then Russian research station in East Antarctica at 67°40′S 45°50′E. After being mothballed in 1990, it was reopened in 2006 to operate on a seasonal basis. In Russian, the station is sometimes referred to as the capital of Antarctica.

Thwaites Glacier, also known as the Doomsday Glacier, is an unusually broad and vast Antarctic glacier flowing into Pine Island Bay, part of the Amundsen Sea, east of Mount Murphy, on the Walgreen Coast of Marie Byrd Land. Its surface speeds exceed 2 kilometres per year near its grounding line. Its fastest flowing grounded ice is centered between 50 and 100 kilometres east of Mount Murphy. In 1967, the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the glacier after Fredrik T. Thwaites (1883–1961), a glacial geologist, geomorphologist and professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The historian Reuben Gold Thwaites was his father.

Argonaut Glacier is a tributary glacier about 10 miles (16 km) long in the Mountaineer Range of Victoria Land, Antarctica. It flows east to enter Mariner Glacier just north of Engberg Bluff. It was named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition, 1962–63, in association with Aeronaut, Cosmonaut and Cosmonette Glaciers.
Cosmonaut Glacier is a tributary glacier, 15 nautical miles (28 km) long, in the Southern Cross Mountains, flowing east along the south side of the Arrowhead Range to enter Aviator Glacier, in Victoria Land.
