The Crawley and District Football League was a football competition in England which was founded with a single division in 1956-57. It expanded to three divisions in 1957-58 and at its height ran five. In its final season, it had three divisions, headed by the Premier Division, with Divisions One and Two below. The league members could apply for promotion to the Combined Counties League or the Sussex County Football League. After the 2005-06 season, South Park made the jump into the CCL. The Crawley & District League Premier Division sat at step 7 (or level 11) of the National League System [ citation needed ]. 2008-09 Champions Bletchingley transferred to the Surrey Elite Intermediate League in 2009-10. In 2009-10 Merstham Newton went the entire league season unbeaten to become Premier Division Champions for the second time in five years.
At the end of the 2009-10 season, the league disbanded and its member clubs joined the Mid-Sussex League or the West Sussex League.

Crawley Town Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Crawley, West Sussex, England. The team competes in EFL League One, the third level of the English football league system in the 2024–25 season following promotion.
The Southern Combination Football League is a football league broadly covering the counties of East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and South West London, England. The league consists of eight divisions – three for first teams, two for Under 23 teams and three for Under 18 teams.

Whitehawk F.C. is a semi-professional football club in Whitehawk, a suburb of the city of Brighton and Hove, England, which plays in the Isthmian League Premier Division. Whitehawk's home is the 3,126-capacity McLaren Enclosed Ground within East Brighton Park. Nicknamed The Hawks, the club's traditional playing colours are red and white. Formed in 1999 by a group of friends as a recreational amateur team playing grassroots football, the club began life in the Crawley & District League and went on to win twelve promotions in their first 23 seasons, reaching the National League in 2022, where they remained for two seasons before suffering their first-ever relegation. Having played for the club in its earlier years, club founder Marc White continues to be the chairman and first team manager to the present day.
