It was released on March 12, 2013, through Solid State Records and was produced by Andreas Magnusson. The album attracted both commercial successes and positive criticism.

Creation/Destruction garnered significantly positive reception from eight music critics ratings and reviews. At HM , Jef Cunningham rated the album four stars out of five, stating it is a "solid release". [5] Graeme Crawford of Cross Rhythms rated it a perfect ten squares, writing that "On this form they deserve to be in the highest league of Christian metal bands". [4] At Jesus Freak Hideout, Michael Weaver rated the album four stars out of five, saying that because of this album and others "Solid State is poised to reclaim their title as Christian metal kings." [7] Scott Fryberger of Jesus Freak Hideout rated the album four stars out of five, stating that "It's a little generic, and they probably could have done a lot more as far as creativity to give each song more of a distinct flair, but I think they could pull that off with another album or two under their belts." [8] At Indie Vision Music, Brody B rated the album four stars out of five, writing that "While Fit For A King are still young, they manage to create what is simply excellent metalcore." [6] Gregory Heaney of AllMusic rated the album three stars out of five, saying that it is a "promising debut". [1] At ChristCore, Anthony Ibarra rated the album a perfect five stars, stating that this is a "must have". [2] Anthony Peronto of Christian Music Zine rated it 4.25 out of five, writing that the band "have proven themselves worthy" with this release. [3] At Mind Equals Blown, Austin Gordon rated the album a 6.5 out of ten, saying that "When you're in the mood for it, simple is good." [9]

Commercial performance

For the Billboard charting week of March 30, 2013, Creation/Destruction charted at No. 175 on the Billboard 200, [11] No. 17 on the Christian Albums chart, [12] No. 43 on the Top Rock Albums chart, [13] No. 6 on the Hard Rock Albums, [14] and No. 3 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. [15] [16] The album sold more than 3,100 copies in its first week of sales. [17]

Fit for a King, also known as FFAK, is an American metalcore band from Dallas, Texas formed in 2007. The band comprises guitarists Bobby Lynge and Daniel Gailey, vocalist Ryan Kirby, bassist Ryan "Tuck" O'Leary, and drummer Trey Celaya. They released two independent EPs entitled Fit for a King in 2008 and Awaken the Vesper in 2009. They also released one independent album, Descendants, in 2011. Fever Fever, is an American alternative music band. They come from Columbus, Ohio. The band started making music in 2005. Their membership is Drew Murfin, Wes Black, Andrew Bashaw, and Zack Taylor. The band released three extended plays while they were independent from a label; Fever Fever in 2008, Kingdom in 2012, and Native Color in 2013. They released an album, LoveQuest independently in 2009. Their first studio album, Aftermath was released by Slospeak Records, in 2014.

XXI (formerly, A Feast for Kings (AFFK)) is an American Christian metal band that also takes influences from Alternative metal and Post-hardcore. They come from Carrollton, Kentucky, where they were formed in 2010, with lead vocalist Eric Gentry. Eric's death in 2014 was the reasoning behind the band's name change, with 'XXI' (Roman numerals for '21') being Eric's age at the time of his death. Their first extended play, Hell on Earth, was released in 2014, shortly before Eric's death, and under their former name. The debut studio album, Inside Out, was released with Carson Butcher as lead vocalist on Tooth & Nail Records in 2015. This album was their breakthrough album on both the Billboard magazine Christian Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts.
