The UCI Road World Championships Elite Men's Road Race is a one-day event for professional cyclists that takes place annually. Cycling has been contested at every Summer Olympic Games since the birth of the modern Olympic movement at the 1896 Summer Olympics, at which a road race and five track events were held. The Tour de Pologne, official abbreviation TdP, is a road bicycle racing stage race. It consists of seven or eight stages and is usually around 1,200 km in length. The race was first held in 1928. Until 1952 the race was held sporadically, but since then it has been an annual race. Until early 1993 the race was open to amateur cyclists only and most of its winners came from Poland.
The Tour of California is an annual professional cycling stage race on the UCI World Tour and USA Cycling Professional Tour. It is the only event on the top-level World Tour in the United States. It was first held in 2006. The eight-day race covers 650–700 miles (1,045–1,126 km) through the U.S. state of California.

Dwars door Vlaanderen(English: Across Flanders) is a semi-classic road bicycle race in Belgium, held annually since 1945. The race starts in Roeselare and finishes in Waregem, both in West Flanders. Since 2017 the event is included in the UCI World Tour.

The European Track Cycling Championships are a set of elite level competition events held annually for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling, exclusively for European cyclists, and regulated by the European Cycling Union (UEC). They were first held in their current format in 2010, when elite level cyclists competed for the first time following an overhaul of European track cycling.
The Norwegian National Time Trial Championships are held annually. They are a cycling race which decides the Norwegian cycling champion in the time trial discipline, across several categories of rider. The event was first held in 1921 and was won by Ole Moen. At the beginning there were often back-to-back wins from many riders. Recent multiple victors have included Edvald Boasson Hagen, Thor Hushovd, Kurt Asle Arvesen and Steffen Kjærgaard. The current champion is Boasson Hagen, who won his eighth title in 2016.
Cycling at the 2012 Summer Paralympics consisted of 50 events in two main disciplines, track cycling and road cycling. Track cycling was held in London Velopark from 30 August to 2 September, and road cycling took place at Brands Hatch from September 5 to September 8.
The Swiss National Road Race Championships are held annually. They are a cycling race which decides the Swiss cycling champion in the road racing discipline, across several categories of rider. The event was first held in 1892 and was won by Edouard Wicky. Ferdinand Kübler and Heiri Suter share the record of 5 victories. The current champion is Steve Morabito.
The cycling competitions of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro were held at four venues scheduled to host Eighteen events between 6 August and 21 August.
Laurent Pichon is a French racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Professional Continental team Arkéa–Samsic. He was named in the start list for the 2015 Vuelta a España. In June 2017, he was named in the startlist for the Tour de France. He was the winner of the 2017 French Road Cycling Cup.
Cycling at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held at the Currumbin Beachfront (road), Nerang National Park, both of which are located in the Gold Coast and Anna Meares Velodrome from 5 to 14 April.
