The Mixed individual road race CP1-2 event at the 2008 Summer Paralympics took place on September 13 at the Changping Triathlon Venue. The race distance was 24.2 km. [1]

2008 Summer Paralympics

The 2008 Summer Paralympic Games, the 13th Paralympics, took place in Beijing, China from September 6 to 17, 2008. As with the 2008 Summer Olympics, equestrian events were held in Hong Kong and sailing events in Qingdao.

Jayme Richardson Australian Paralympic cyclist

Jayme Richardson, born 27 April 1989, is an Australian Paralympic cyclist. She was born in the Sydney suburb of Blacktown with cerebellar ataxia due to asphyxiation at birth. She began cycling in October 2004 after seeing a post Athens Paralympic interview with Silver Medalist Claire McLean where Claire said Australia needed more female Para-cyclists. At the time Jayme was a swimmer and was doing very well, having competed both through school to CHS Level and out of school to National Level, however she felt that there was something greater out there for her and decided that a change was needed.

T36 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics. It includes people who have coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis. It includes people with cerebral palsy. T36 is used by the International Paralympic Committee. This classification competes at the Paralympic Games.

T1 is a para-cycling classification. It is for athletes with severe locomotive dysfunctions, and insufficient balance to use a regular bicycle. The class includes a number of different disability types including cerebral palsy. The class only competes in road events and uses tricycles.

T2 is a para-cycling classification. The class is for cyclists with more moderate loss of stability and function compared to T1. It includes people with a variety of different types of disabilities including cerebral palsy. This class uses tricycles and competes at the Paralympic Games in road events only and is governed by the by Union Cycliste Internationale.
