The men's cross-country cycling event at the 2015 European Games in Baku took place at Mountain Bike Velopark on 13 June.
Cycle sport is competitive physical activity using bicycles. There are several categories of bicycle racing including road bicycle racing, cyclo-cross, mountain bike racing, track cycling, BMX, and cycle speedway. Non-racing cycling sports include artistic cycling, cycle polo, freestyle BMX and mountain bike trials. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world governing body for cycling and international competitive cycling events. The International Human Powered Vehicle Association is the governing body for human-powered vehicles that imposes far fewer restrictions on their design than does the UCI. The UltraMarathon Cycling Association is the governing body for many ultra-distance cycling races.
Hybrid bicycles blend characteristics from more specialized road bikes, touring bikes and mountain bikes. The resulting "hybrid" is a general-purpose bike that can tolerate a wide range of riding conditions and applications. Their stability, comfort and ease of use make them popular with novice cyclists, casual riders, commuters, and children.

Mountain bike racing is the competitive cycle sport discipline of mountain biking held on off-road terrain. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) recognised the discipline relatively late in 1990, when it sanctioned the world championships in Durango, Colorado. The first UCI Mountain Bike World Cup series took place in 1988. Its nine-race circuit covered two continents—Europe and North America—and was sponsored by Grundig. Cross-country racing was the only World Cup sport at this time. In 1993, a six-event downhill World Cup was introduced. In 1996, cross-country mountain biking events were added to the Olympic Games. In 2006, cross-country mountain biking events became part of the World Deaf Cycling Championships for the first time in San Francisco, USA.
Kashi Ananda Leuchs from Dunedin, New Zealand is a former world class cross country mountain biker who represented New Zealand in mountain biking at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, the 2004 games in Athens and the 2008 Games in Beijing. He also competed in the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games, both in mountain biking and road racing finishing fourth in the 2002 Mountain Bike Cross Country.
Caroline Sarah J. Alexander is a cross-country mountain biker and road cyclist born in Barrow-in-Furness. She was a swimmer as a child and did not cycle until she was 20. She first rode a bike in competition in a triathlon: she came second in the swimming and was fastest on the bike. She entered her first mountain bike race, which she won. Within a year she was one of the top three mountain-bike racers in the UK. She left her job as a draughtswoman in Barrow shipyards and became a full-time cyclist.
Maja Martyna Włoszczowska is a Polish mountain biker. She is the 2008 and 2016 Olympic silver medalist in cross-country cycling. She is a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Nino Schurter is a Swiss cross-country cyclist who races for the SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team.
Cycling at the 2011 Games of the Small States of Europe was held from 31 May – 3 June 2011.

Jolanda Neff is a Swiss cyclist, who currently rides for Trek Factory Racing in cross-country and cyclo-cross events. She won the gold medal in the women's cross-country event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Cycling has appeared consistently since their first appearance at the 1934 British Empire Games in London with track and road events at every Games since and mountain biking being included from 2002.

Alice Barnes is an English racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Canyon–SRAM. She is the sister of fellow racing cyclist Hannah Barnes, who also rides for Canyon–SRAM.
Lejla Njemčević is an Italian-born Bosnian cross-country and mountain bike cyclist. She is the first cross country cyclist from Bosnia and Herzegovina to sign a contract for a professional cycling team. Lejla started racing at the age of 15 at local cycling club Klub brdskog biciklizma "Puls" for which team she is still riding. She is an eleven time national champion in various disciplines and four time national league overall winner, for the years 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and also two time silver medal winner in the Balkan championship.

Marc Potts is a male track cyclist, representing Ireland at international competitions. He competed at the 2016 UEC European Track Championships in the Men's Points race and in the 4 km individual pursuit. He placed 4th in the 2017 UEC European Track Championships in the Men's Scratch race.
Two disciplines of cycling will be contested at the 2017 Games of the Small States of Europe; road cycling and mountain biking. A total of eight medal events will be held.
Cycling competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held at five venues across Lima. The Circuito BMX held the BMX racing competitions, the Pista de skateboarding held the freestyle BMX events. Morro Solar staged the mountain biking competitions, and the Circuito San Miguel staged the road competitions. Finally the velodrome staged the track cycling competitions.
