Governed by Cycling Canada Cyclisme, the Canadian National Road Race Championship is a road bicycle race that takes place as part of the Canadian National Cycling Championships, and decides the best cyclist in this type of race. The first edition took place in 1959. The first race winner of the road race championship was Egidio Bolzon in 1959.

As of August 2020, she holds the Irish record for the 500m time trial at 36.220. She started cycling in her twenties, her transition into elite sportswoman was the subject of a 2021 Global Cycling Network documentary Cycling Changed My Life: Orla Walsh.
