D.A.V. P.G. College, Lucknow is a Government-aided degree college affiliated to the University of Lucknow. [2] [3] The college has its origin in a school started in the premises of Arya Samaj temple in Ganeshganj locality in 1918. In 1926, the school shifted to the present premises, and graduate classes were started in 1956. [4] [5]

Spread over 25 acres, the main campus is situated in Arya Nagar, near Naka Hindola, 1 km from Charbagh Railway Station. It offers graduate courses in Arts, Law and Science stream. It also offers Master courses for Arts and Law streams. It has two campuses, one for Law and another for Arts And Science. In 2012, India Today placed the college amongst top 5 "Best Science Colleges in Lucknow". [6]

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), is a public collegiate university in Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was established as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University through the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000. To reduce workload and to ensure proper management, the university was bifurcated into separate universities, Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU) and Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), with effect from 1 May 2010. In 2013, as a new government came into power, the university was formed again by combining the two on 5 January 2013.

Barkatullah University

Barkatullah University is a state government university in Bhopal, India. Originally known as the University of Bhopal and more informally as Bhopal University, it was renamed in 1988 after the great freedom fighter Prof. Barkatullah, who was born in the area. Mahatma Hansraj

Lala Hansraj also known as Mahatama Hansraj, was an Indian educationist and a follower of Arya Samaj movement founder, Swami Dayanand. He founded, with Gurudatta Vidhyarthi, the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Schools System (D.A.V.) in Lahore in 1886, where the first D.A.V. school was set up in memory of Dayanand who had died three years earlier.

The Isabella Thoburn College, formerly the Lucknow Women's College and often called informally IT College, is a college for women in Lucknow, India, named after its founder, Isabella Thoburn, the first woman American missionary of the Methodist Episcopal Church to sail in India 1869. Government Arya Degree College (GADC) Nurpur is one of the constituent colleges of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla.
