The Bass Coast Rail Trail is a rail trail located in the Bass Coast Shire of Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.
The Mornington Tourist Railway is a heritage railway near Mornington, a town on the Mornington Peninsula, near Melbourne, Victoria. The line is managed by the Mornington Railway Preservation Society and operates on part of the former Victorian Railways branch line which ran from Baxter to Mornington.

Kernot was a railway station in Victoria, Australia, built on the Wonthaggi railway line. Not long after the line opened the station was equipped with a 10,000-gallon tank and crane, and was located within walking distance of the Kernot General Store which closed at the same time as the line did in 1978.
Almurta was a railway station on the Wonthaggi railway line, located on the Bass Coast in Victoria. It operated from the opening of the Wonthaggi line in 1910, until the line closed in 1978. It was originally announced that the station would be called "Rees", but that name never seems to have been applied.
Glen Forbes was a railway station on the Wonthaggi railway line, located on the Bass Coast, Victoria, Australia. The station opened with the line in 1910 and was originally called "Kernot". The name was changed to Glen Forbes in 1915. The station operated until the early 1970s, shortly before the closure of the Wonthaggi line.
Anderson was a railway station on the Wonthaggi line located near Anderson, Victoria. The station operated until the line's closure in 1978. The site of this station is now a carpark and the starting point of the Bass Coast Rail Trail.

Wonthaggi was a railway station located in the town of Wonthaggi, Victoria, Australia. Built to serve the town as well as the State Coal Mine, the station was the official terminus station of the Wonthaggi line, but two short branch lines continued from the station, leading to the Kirrak and Eastern Area mine extensions.
Koonwarra was a railway station on the South Gippsland line, in South Gippsland, Victoria. The station was opened during the 1890s and operated until 1992, when the line to Barry Beach, servicing the oil fields in Bass Strait, was closed. The line was then dismantled and turned into the Great Southern Rail Trail.
Eastern Area was a railway branch line built in the 1910s to service the State Coal Mine located in Wonthaggi. The Eastern Area Mine operated from 1919 to 1947 while this section of track operated until the 1950s.

The station was opened in 1894, and was one of only three stations on the Outtrim line which was eventually closed in two stages between 1951 and 1953, when Victorian Railways was closing many other small branch lines.

The line was opened in 1921 and was one of the more short lived branch lines on the Victorian Railways closing in 1952 with many other smaller branch lines in the railways system. The Merricks station grounds are now part of an equestrian facility. Part of the railway alignment between Red Hill and Merricks stations has also been converted into an equestrian and walking trail with the remaining majority of the line now located on private properties.
Balnarring railway station was located on the Red Hill railway line. The line was opened in 1921 and was one of the more short-lived branch lines on the Victorian Railways closing in 1953 along with a few other smaller branch lines in the railways system. Following official closure of the line, trains (railmotors) continued to run as far as Balnarring to cater for the Balnarring picnic races, Lord Somers camp and a Railway Historical Society tour in 1956. Part of the railway alignment between Red Hill and Merricks stations has been converted into an equestrian trail with the remaining majority of the line now located on private properties. The station is located in private property with almost no remains of the platform left.

It's Bass Coast’s fastest-growing suburb, with the 2011 census showing Dalyston’s population more than doubled from 278 residents in 2006 to 606 in 2011.

It commences at Cairns and at its maximum extent, reached Ravenshoe at the southern end of the Atherton Tableland. The rail system served by this line was unusual for Queensland in that the majority of lines that connected to it were built by private companies and later purchased by the Queensland Government.
