Dan S. Murphy (born May 6, 1970 in Abbotsford, British Columbia) is a Canadian sportscaster, who currently works for Rogers Sportsnet as host of Vancouver Canucks television broadcasts and occasionally as a rinkside reporter on NHL on Sportsnet or Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts. He graduated from MEI Secondary in Abbotsford in 1988. He is Roman Catholic.
After graduating from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Communications in 1992, Murphy attended BCIT’s Broadcast Journalism program where he graduated in 1995. He quickly got his start in television when he joined Sports Page in Vancouver where he worked as a writer/reporter/producer from 1995 to 1999. Murphy was then hired as a reporter by Sportsnet in November 1999 and hosted Vancouver Grizzlies NBA broadcasts on Sportsnet and VTV during the 2000–01 season before joining Canucks telecasts the following season.
Hockey Night in Canada is a branding used for Canadian television presentations of the National Hockey League. While the name has been used for all NHL broadcasts on CBC Television, Hockey Night in Canada is primarily associated with its Saturday night NHL broadcasts, a practice originating from Saturday NHL broadcasts that began in 1931 on the CNR Radio network and continued on its successors, and debuting on television beginning in 1952. Initially only airing a single game weekly, the modern incarnation airs a weekly double-header, with game times normally at 7 and 10 p.m. (ET). The broadcast features various segments during the intermissions and between games, as well as pre- and post-game coverage of the night's games, and player interviews. It also shows the hosts' opinions on news and issues occurring in the league.
Sportsnet is a Canadian English-language sports specialty channel owned by Rogers Sports & Media. It was established in 1998 as CTV Sportsnet, a joint venture between CTV, Liberty Media, and Rogers Media. CTV parent Bell Globemedia then was required to divest its stake in the network following its 2001 acquisition of competing network TSN. Rogers then became the sole owner of Sportsnet in 2004 after it bought the remaining minority stake that was held by Fox.

Breakaway is jointly owned by the parent companies of the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, and Edmonton Oilers at 33.33% each. Licensed in 2000, its sole offerings were regional pay-per-view broadcasts of National Hockey League games involving the aforementioned teams which are not available through other broadcast or cable channels. The Breakaway name was not used on-air; the services were branded as Canucks TV, Flames PPV, and Oilers PPV respectively.
James Cybulski is a Canadian broadcaster, currently working as the host of The Starting Lineup on Sportsnet 650 Vancouver. Previously, Cybulski worked as a host of Cybulski and Company on TSN Radio 1050. Prior to his role on TSN Radio 1050, Cybulski also worked as a television sportscaster, and a reporter for SportsCentre on TSN. It was announced in early February 2013 that Cybulski was leaving TSN altogether to pursue other opportunities. In late June 2013, Sportsnet hired Cybulski as their anchor and reporter for Sportsnet Central on Sportsnet Pacific in August. On January 23, 2014, Cybulski and Caroline Cameron were named the co-anchors for the morning edition of Sportsnet Central. Cybulski worked at Sportsnet until March 2016. In a June 2019 Game Informer article, it was announced that Cybulski would be replacing Mike Emrick as the play-by-play commentator for the upcoming EA Sports title, NHL 20.
Dave Randorf is a Canadian sportscaster who serves as the play-by-play announcer for the television broadcasts of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He is best known for his work at TSN hosting the network's Canadian Football League studio show as well as TSN's and CTV's coverage of figure skating. He also did play-by-play for the NHL on TSN, World Hockey Championship, and the National Lacrosse League on TSN.
