Daniel Phillip Wood (born October 31, 1962) is a Canadian former ice hockey player who was a member of the 1984 Canadian Olympic team, which finished out of the medals at the Sarajevo Games. [1] He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 9th round (188th overall) of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft.
After a long career he retired in the early 1990s, since then he has not been involved in the hockey scene.

He played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New Jersey Devils, Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning and Los Angeles Kings between 1988 and 2007. He was born in Windsor, Ontario, but grew up in Toronto, Ontario.

It was founded in 1949, and as of 2022, the Danish team was ranked 10th in the IIHF World Rankings. Denmark currently has 4,255 players. Their coach is Danish Heinz Ehlers who replaced Janne Karlsson. Denmark once held the record for the largest loss when they were defeated by Canada in 1949, 47–0, only being surpassed by New Zealand who were defeated by Australia 58–0 in 1987.

David Hakstol is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach who is the head coach for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). Hakstol was the head coach for Sioux City Musketeers for four seasons, followed by four years as an assistant his alma mater, the University of North Dakota. He was promoted to head coach in 2004 and led the program for eleven seasons. Hakstol served as head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers from May 2015 to December 2018, and was an assistant coach for Canada's national men's team in 2017 and 2019.

The 2017 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships was the 41st edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. The main tournament was co-hosted by the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario. This was the 14th championship that Canada had hosted. Montreal and Toronto also jointly hosted the 2015 edition. The tournament consisted of 30 games between 10 nations.
The 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship was the 47th edition of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship, held between December 26, 2022 and January 5, 2023. It was won by Canada, in overtime of the gold-medal game. Czechia won the silver, their first medal since 2005.
