    Mike Verich was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1983 to 1998. His district consisted of a portion of Trumbull County, Ohio. He resigned to take up a position on the Ohio State Employment Relations Board (SERB) before his ninth term commenced in January 1999. His brother Chris was appointed to succeed him.

    The One Hundred Twenty-second Ohio General Assembly was the legislative body of the state of Ohio in 1997 and 1998. In this General Assembly, both the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives were controlled by the Ohio Republican Party. In the Senate, there were 21 Republicans and 12 Democrats. In the House, there were 60 Republicans and 39 Democrats. It used redistricted legislative districts from the 1990 United States Census.

    Chris Verich was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. His district consisted of a portion of Trumbull County, Ohio. He was appointed to replace his brother Michael, who had won a ninth term in office but who had resigned to take up a position on the Ohio State Employment Relations Board (SERB) before the term commenced in January 1999. Chris Verich was defeated in the 2000 Democratic Primary by Daniel Sferra, who won at that year's election and succeeded him in January 2001.

    The one hundred thirty-fifth Connecticut House of Representatives district elects one member of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Its current representative is Anne Hughes. Before 2002, the district contained the towns of Easton, Redding and parts of Newtown and Weston; boundary changes which took effect for the 2002 election removed Newtown and part of Redding from the district and added the remaining portion of Weston. The 135th District was a safe Republican seat in the House, in part due to the lack of Democratic opposition, but an increased Democratic Party presence in recent years has changed this.
