The Danish Society of Actuaries (DSA), or the Danske Aktuarforening, is the association for actuaries in Denmark. The Society held its first constituents meeting on 23 April 1901 and the first meeting of members on 31 May 1901.

Objectives

The objective of the Danish Society of Actuaries is to advance the body of knowledge of the actuarial science and to enhance the interest of the Danish actuary profession.

International connections

The Danish Society of Actuaries is affiliated with the International Actuarial Association, of which all DSA members join, except for pensioners.

The Danish Society of Actuaries works together with the other societies of actuaries in the EC in Groupe Consultatif des Associations d’Actuaires des Pays des Communautés Européennes. One of the most important objectives of Groupe Consultatif is to keep in close contact with the European Commission and see to it that the Commission is aware of the standards of the societies.

The association was founded in 1895, and was an original member of the International Actuarial Association, founded that same year. In 2009, the association changed its name to IA|BE, standing for Instituut van Actuarissen in België, Institut des Actuaires en Belgique and Institute of Actuaries in Belgium.

The Czech Society of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in Czechia. It aims to promote education and research in actuarial science and to mediate social and professional contacts among actuaries.

The Slovak Society of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in Slovakia. The Society was established in 1996. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2011, the Society has about 150 members, 25 of them fully qualified. Current chairman of the Society is Milada Jantošová.

The Austrian Actuarial Society is the association of actuaries in Austria. The Society was established in 1971. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. The Society has more than 500 members, 367 of them fully qualified. Current president of the Society is Hartwig Sorger (since 26 June 2020.

The Swedish Society of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in Sweden. The Society was founded on 3 March 1904. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2004, the Society has about 290 members.

The Actuarial Society of Finland is the association of actuaries in Finland. The Society was founded on 21 April 1922. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. The Society has about 300 members.

The Polish Society of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in Poland. The society was established in 1991 to resume activities of the Polish Institute of Actuaries founded in 1920. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif.

The Cyprus Association of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in Cyprus. The association was founded in 1991 and formally established in 1993. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2009, the association has 48 fellows.

The Slovenian Association of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in Slovenia. The association was founded on 30 January 1997. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2007, the association has about 60 members, 37 of them fully qualified. The current chairman of the association is Darko Medved.

The Estonian Actuarial Society is the association of actuaries in Estonia. The Society was established on 5 January 1999. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2004, the Society has 23 members, 7 of them fully qualified.

The Lithuanian Actuarial Society is the association of actuaries in Lithuania. The Society was founded in 1996. In 2005, it became a full member of the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2011, the Society has 41 members. Current chairman of the Society is Rokas Gylys.

The Latvian Actuarial Association is the association of actuaries in Latvia. The association was established in 1997. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2008, the association has about 40 members, 19 of them fully qualified. Current chairman of the association is Gaida Pettere.

The Swiss Association of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in Switzerland. The association was established in 1905. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2017 (June), the association has 1 364 members, 778 of them fully qualified. Current president of the association is Klemens Binswanger.

The Hellenic Actuarial Society is the association of actuaries in Greece. The society was established in 1979. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2007, the society has about 100 full members. The current chairman of the society is Iraklis Daskalopoulos.

The Institute of Actuaries is the association of actuaries in France. The Institute was created in 2001 by a merger of the Institute of Actuaries of France and the French Federation of Actuaries. The Institute is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2012, it has about 3 000 full members. Current president of the Institute is Thomas Behar.

Petr Mandl

Professor Petr Mandl DSc was a Czech mathematician known for his contributions to the fields of stochastic processes and actuarial science. He published several books and more than hundred articles.
