A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive handoffs from the quarterback to rush the ball, and block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. A running back may be a halfback, a wingback or a fullback. A running back will sometimes be called a "feature back" if he is the team's starting running back.
Darrell "Dr. Victory" Mudra is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Adams State College (1959–1962), North Dakota State University (1963–1965), the University of Arizona (1967–1968), Western Illinois University (1969–1973), Florida State University (1974–1975), Eastern Illinois University (1978–1982), and the University of Northern Iowa (1983–1987), compiling a career college football record of 200–81–4. Murdra was also the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) for one season in 1966. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 2000.

Mike Anthony Eden is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s. The slightly built Eden played for Manly-Warringah, Eastern Suburbs, Parramatta and the Gold Coast in the NSWRL premiership. Originally appearing in the halves, he later played at fullback.

The team won the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the first championship of any kind for the Tennessee program. Winning all nine of their games, the 1914 squad was only the second undefeated team in Tennessee history. The 1914 Vols were retroactively awarded a national championship by 1st-N-Goal, though this remains largely unrecognized.

The 1892 Chicago Maroons football team represented the University of Chicago during the 1892 college football season. The University of Chicago opened its doors for its first semester on October 1, 1892, and the football team, led by Amos Alonzo Stagg as both player and coach, played its first game one week later on October 8, 1892. In its first year of intercollegiate football, the Chicago team compiled an 8–4–1 record. The 1892 season included four victories over local high school teams, two victories over a local YMCA team, and seven intercollegiate games. In intercollegiate play, the team compiled a 2–4–1 record.

Marcus Darrell Lester was an American football player who played as a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) from 1964 to 1966. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he attended Lake Charles High School and Louisiana State University before moving to McNeese State. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the ninth round of the 1964 NFL Draft, where he would join up with fellow Lake Charles native Tommy Mason, who had been the Vikings' first pick in the 1961 Expansion Draft. Lester played six games for the Vikings in 1964, making four rushing attempts for a total of 18 yards, with a long of 7 yards. He moved to the Denver Broncos for the 1965 season, but did not register a statistic in any of his 12 games that year. The following season, he played 11 times, making 34 rushing attempts for 84 yards, two receptions for 26 yards and a touchdown, and two kick returns for a total of 12 yards. However, he did not play again in the NFL after 1966.
