The Leeward Islands cricket team is a first class cricket team representing the member countries of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, a regional association which again is part of the West Indies Cricket Board. Contrary to the normal English definition of the Leeward Islands, Dominica is not included – for cricketing purposes Dominica is a part of the Windward Islands. As such, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands and Sint Maarten are all part of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association. The team does not take part in any international competitions, but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the West Indies' Professional Cricket League, and the best players may be selected for the West Indies team, which plays international cricket. The team competes in the Professional Cricket League under the franchise name Leeward Islands Hurricanes. The Leeward Islands has won a total of ten domestic titles – four in first class cricket and six in one-day cricket, but their last title was in 1997–98 when they won the double.

Liam Sebastien's five-wicket haul carried Dominica to a record-breaking 66-run victory over British Virgin Islands (BVI) in the third match of the Stanford 20/20 at the Stanford Cricket Ground in Coolidge, Antigua. Sebastien, the Dominica captain and offspinner, became the fourth bowler to take five wickets in this tournament, as BVI, chasing 140 for victory, were dismissed for a record low 73 in 17.2 overs. The previous tournament low was 74 made by Bermuda against Jamaica. Sebastien is Dominica's most experienced player having played 16 first-class matches for Windward Islands. In another hard-fought match in Bridgetown, Liam Sebastien smashed his second first-class century to put Windward Islands on the verge on securing the first-innings lead against Barbados. Sebastien cracked 143.
Darren Michael Bravo is a West Indian cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Trinidad and Tobago and international cricket for the West Indies. A left-handed batsman, his batting style has drawn comparisons with Brian Lara. Bravo is the younger half brother of fellow West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo and his mother is the first cousin of former cricketer Brian Lara.
Johnson Charles is a St Lucian international cricketer who plays for the West Indies. As a wicketkeeper-batsman, Charles started his ODI career against Australia in March 2012. His first T20I came against England in September 2011, and he became just the second cricketer from the island of St Lucia to play for the West Indies. Johnson was included in the West Indies' 15-man squad for the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 held in September and October that year.

St Lucia competes with St Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada and Dominica in domestic Windward Islands cricket competitions including the Windward Islands two-day and Twenty20 cricket championships. The team's captain, as of 2014, is Craig Emmanuel.
