David Abbey

David Robert Abbey (born 11 December 1941) is an English former first-class cricketer.

Abbey was born in Edmonton, Middlesex and played in two first-class matches for Middlesex County Cricket Club in 1967, as a right-handed batsman and a slow left arm orthodox bowler.

He currently resides in St. Merryn near Padstow in Cornwall.

Despite his notability, having played in 375 first-class matches including 5 Tests, he was almost penniless when he killed himself at the age of 41.

The 1787 cricket season in England is noteworthy for the foundation of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) after the opening of Thomas Lord's first ground in the parish of Marylebone, north of London. MCC soon became the sport's governing body with the new ground as its feature venue. The first match known to have been played at Lord's was on Monday, 21 May, between the White Conduit Club and a Middlesex county team. The first match known to involve a team representing MCC was against White Conduit on Monday, 30 July. Ethan Read Bamber is an English cricketer. Bamber signed a professional contract with Middlesex in 2018. He made his first-class debut for Middlesex in the 2018 County Championship on 17 August 2018. Prior to his first-class debut, he was named in England's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

The 2021 County Championship was the 121st cricket County Championship season in England and Wales. For the first phase of the tournament, the teams were split into three groups of six, with each side playing ten matches. The top two teams from each group progressed into Division One for the second phase of the competition, with the other teams progressing to Divisions Two and Three. The team that finished top of Division One became the county champions; and the top two teams from Division One contested a five-day match at Lord's for the Bob Willis Trophy. On 17 December 2020, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed all the fixtures for the tournament. After completion of the group stage on 14 July 2021, the ECB confirmed the fixtures for the division stage on 22 July 2021.

Joshua Michael de Caires is an English cricketer, and the son of former England cricket captain Michael Atherton. He made his first-class debut on 5 July 2021, for Middlesex in the 2021 County Championship.
