This is a list of electoral results for the Division of Lyne in Australian federal elections from the electorate's creation in 1949 until the present.
Charles Edward Griffiths was an Australian politician. Born in Jesmond,New South Wales,he attended public schools and became a railwayman with New South Wales Railways,rising to become an official in the Australian Railways Union. He was appointed to the Australian Labor Party's New South Wales Executive before his election to the Australian House of Representatives in 1949 as the member for the new seat of Shortland. He held the seat until his retirement in 1972. Griffiths' 23 years as a member of federal parliament coincided with Labor's longest stint out of office.
John Barry Mildren was an Australian politician. Born in Colac,Victoria,he attended the University of Melbourne and then Texas A&M University. He became a teacher,later rising to senior lecturer and head of department at Ballarat College of Advanced Education. In 1980,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Ballarat,defeating Liberal MP Jim Short. He held the seat until his own defeat in 1990 by Michael Ronaldson.
Alan Charles Bird was an Australian politician. Born in Launceston,Tasmania,he was educated at state primary schools in Melbourne and at Melbourne High School before becoming an engineer. As an official with the Amalgamated Engineers' Union,he was associated with the Australian Labor Party.
Peter Milton was an Australian politician. Born in London,England,he was educated at the University of Melbourne and served in the military from 1946 to 1949. On his return,he was assistant registrar at the University of Melbourne. In 1980,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for La Trobe. He held the seat until his defeat in 1990. He died of cancer on 8 August 2009 at his home in Northcote.
John Peter Riggall is a former Australian politician. He served in the House of Representatives from 1990 to 1993,representing the Victorian seat of McMillan for the Liberal Party.

David Charles McKenzie is a former Australian politician. Born in Melbourne,he was a teacher before entering politics. He was involved in local politics as a member of Diamond Valley Shire Council,of which he was president 1969–71. In 1972,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the member for Diamond Valley,defeating Liberal MP Neil Brown. As a backbench Member in 1973 McKenzie,together with fellow Labor Member Tony Lamb,introduced the Medical Practice Clarification Bill which,if passed,would have allowed abortion in the Australian Capital Territory. The Bill was defeated after a conscience vote on 10 May 1973 by 98 votes to 23. McKenzie held the seat until his defeat by Brown in 1975.
Wilfred Charles Coutts was an Australian politician. Born in Marburg,Queensland,he was educated at state schools before becoming a salesman. He was active in local politics as a member of Brisbane City Council. In 1954,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Griffith. He held the seat until his defeat by Liberal candidate Arthur Chresby in 1958. He returned to the House in 1961,defeating Chresby. He held the seat until his defeat in 1966 by Don Cameron. Coutts died in 1997 and was buried in Nudgee Cemetery.
Henry Norman Charles Bandidt,MBE was an Australian politician. Born near Galton,Queensland,he was educated at Ipswich Grammar School and the University of Queensland before becoming a solicitor in 1931. He was a dairy farmer,writer and lecturer,as well as an official with the Queensland branch of the Country Party. In 1958,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Country Party member for Wide Bay. He was defeated in 1961. Bandidt died in 1990.

Raymond Henry Sherry was an Australian politician. Born in Sydney,he was educated there at state schools. He spent 1941 to 1946 with the merchant navy before becoming an actor,television broadcaster and commentator,moving to Hobart in 1956. In 1969,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Franklin,defeating Liberal MP Thomas Pearsall. He held the seat until his defeat by Liberal candidate Bruce Goodluck in 1975. In 1976 he entered the Tasmanian House of Assembly for Franklin,holding the seat until 1979. Sherry died in 1989. His son,Nick Sherry,was a Senator from Tasmania from 1990 to 2012.
Arthur Edward George Rae was a New Zealand-born Australian politician. Born in Christchurch to Charles and Ann Rae,he received a primary education at Blenheim before migrating to Australia in 1878,where he became a miner,shearer and journalist. He was secretary of the New South Wales Shearers' Union during the 1890 strike. He also served as Vice-President,President and Honorary-General Secretary of the Australian Workers' Union. In 1891,he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as one of the three members for Murrumbidgee,leaving the Assembly in 1894. In 1910,Rae was elected to the Australian Senate as a Labor Senator from New South Wales. He held the seat until his defeat in 1914. He returned to the Senate,after a break of over ten years,in 1929. After the Labor split of 1931,Rae joined the Lang Labor group,but was defeated as a Lang Labor candidate in 1934. Rae died in 1943.

John Joseph Morris was an Australian politician. Born in Wallsend,New South Wales,he was a founder of the Federated Liquor and Allied Industries Employees' Union before becoming its NSW Secretary and President and eventually the National President. In 1976 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Council as a Labor member. He left the Council in 1984 to contest the Australian Senate for New South Wales,in which he was successful. He remained in the Senate until he retired in 1990.
