David McMahon (born 19 October 1951) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the VFL.
McMahon played on the half forward flank and after being recruited from Preston he made his league debut in 1973. He retired in 1984 with 218 VFL games to his name which puts him at 7th on the all-time list for the now defunct club.
James Robert McMahon Jr. is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons, most notably with the Chicago Bears. He played college football at Brigham Young University, where he was a two-time All-American and later a 1998 inductee of the College Football Hall of Fame. Due to his collegiate success, McMahon was selected by the Bears fifth overall in the 1982 NFL Draft.

Despite playing well for the Hawthorn reserves side, he was never selected to play another AFL game.
