The Connacht Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition for the senior county teams of Connacht GAA. All of the counties of Connacht participate in the championship, as well as counties London and New York. The winning team receives the Nestor Cup.

His son Donal played for Roscommon at all levels, winning Connacht and All-Ireland Minor Football Championship medals in 2006, as well as Connacht Under-21 Football Championship and Connacht Senior Football Championship in 2010.
Paul Conroy is an Irish Gaelic footballer and teacher who plays at senior level for the Galway county team. Conroy was captain of the All-Ireland winning Minor team in 2007 when they narrowly defeated Derry. Conroy made his Senior championship debut against Roscommon and scored finished the game with a tally of 0–6.
Francie Grehan is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Roscommon county team between 1998 and 2005. He helped Roscommon win the 2001 Connacht Senior Football Championship, and later won an All Star at centre-back.

In 2010, he was part of the DCU team that won the 2010 O'Byrne Cup beating Louth in the final and the Sigerson Cup beating UCC. In 2010 he was a member of the senior Roscommon team that won the Connacht Senior Football Championship by beating Sligo by one point.
Ger Cafferkey is a former Gaelic footballer who plays for Ballina Stephenites and the Mayo county team.
Danny Qualter is a rugby union player from Athlone in Ireland. His primary position is as a lock, though he also plays across the back row. Qualter currently plays for Irish provincial team Connacht in the Pro14, having been promoted from their academy in 2013.

It formerly competed in the abolished Connacht Senior Hurling Championship, finishing as runner-up in the last competition 1999.
