Deewar is an Indian television series that aired on DD National channel. The series was also shown on TV Asia channel in the United States.

Plot

The show is based on the story of a guy named Purshottam, who is in jail. He has been in prison for the last ten years. It is said that although his term is a lifer and that means a minimum of fourteen years, there is a possibility of him being released within the next six months. Purshottam is in prison due to his conviction for the crime of murder.

Masoom is a 1983 Hindi film, the directorial debut of Shekhar Kapur. It is an adaptation of the 1980 novel Man, Woman and Child by Erich Segal which was also adapted into a Malayalam movie Olangal and an American movie Man, Woman and Child. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi in lead roles along with Tanuja, Supriya Pathak and Saeed Jaffrey. It features Jugal Hansraj, Aradhana and Urmila Matondkar as child actors. The screenplay, dialogues and lyrics are by Gulzar with music by R.D. Burman. The film has been remade into a Telugu movie named Illalu Priyuralu and in Turkish as Bir Akşam Üstü.

<i>Dharmatma</i> 1975 Indian film

Dharmatma is a 1975 Hindi thriller movie and the first Bollywood film to be shot in Afghanistan. It was produced and directed by Feroz Khan. The movie is the first attempt in India to localise The Godfather. The cast includes Feroz Khan, Hema Malini, Rekha, Premnath, Imtiaz Khan, Danny Denzongpa, Farida Jalal, Ranjeet, Helen, Madan Puri, Jeevan, Iftekhar, Dara Singh, Satyen Kappu and Sudhir. The music is by Kalyanji Anandji. This film took Feroz Khan to new heights in his career as this was a hit movie. The same year, Sholay and Deewar were released. The film also has scenes featuring Buzkashi, a Central Asian sport on horses, including aerial shots, which in turn won the film's cinematographer, Kamal Bose, the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematographer. Dharmatma's plot is loosely based on The Godfather and the character of Premnath was inspired by the life and times of the then king of Matka gambling, Ratan Khatri.

<i>Khuda Gawah</i> 1992 Indian film

Khuda Gawah is a 1992 Indian epic drama film written and directed by Mukul S. Anand. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Sridevi, Shilpa Shirodkar, Danny Denzongpa, Kiran Kumar in pivotal roles. The music was composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. The film marked Sridevi and Bachchan's third collaboration after Inquilaab (1984) and Aakhree Raasta (1986). In the film, Badshah Khan travels from Afghanistan to India to find the killer of Benazir's father so that he can impress her. He succeeds but soon finds himself framed for a murder and trapped in an Indian prison. Made on a budget of 57 million it was one of the most expensive films of its time, just below Ajooba (1991) which also starred Bachchan.

Kohi Apna Sa is a Hindi drama television series. Shruti, Khushi and Sanjana are best friends and coincidentally all three get married in same family. The three friends live a happy life in each other's company, until tragedy strikes and Shruti's husband is murdered. The show started with good ratings on Zee TV and also became one of the most watched of channel but suddenly show started losing viewership and went off air in January, 2003.
