Derek Thomas (born September 6, 1966) is a former head men's basketball coach at Western Illinois University. [1] His final record in five years with Western Illinois University was 40-104. He is the son of Hall of Fame Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Emmitt Thomas. Thomas has four children.

Derek was an Assistant Basketball coach at the University of Detroit Mercy until resigning in 2012. [2]

Detroit Mercy Titans US college athletic program

The Detroit Mercy Titans are the athletic teams of University of Detroit Mercy (UDM). The University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The school primarily competes in the Horizon League, but competes in other conferences for fencing and lacrosse, sports not sponsored for either men or women by the Horizon League. Fencing, a co-ed sport, competes in the Midwest Fencing Conference. Men's lacrosse moves from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference to the ASUN Conference in July 2021. Women's lacrosse joined the Mid-American Conference for that league's first women's lacrosse season in 2021.

The 2007–2008 Western Michigan Broncos men's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college basketball team competing in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The Broncos, 20–12 overall and 12–4 in the conference, captured the MAC West Division championship by four games and earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. WMU reached the semi-finals of the MAC tournament before falling to No. 3 seed Akron.

Detroit Mercy Titans mens basketball

The Detroit Mercy Titans men's basketball team is the college basketball team that represents University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan, and competes in NCAA Division I men's basketball as a member of the Horizon League. Traditionally, the Titans have been a fairly strong "mid-major" program, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 1977 and to the Round of 32 twice during the 1990s. The Titans are currently coached by Mike Davis, who was hired on June 13, 2018. The Titans play their home games at Calihan Hall on the school's McNichols Campus.

Diane Dietz is a former All-American basketball player. She played for the University of Michigan from 1979–1982 and is the school's second all-time scoring leader with 2,076 points. She also set the Big Ten Conference single-game scoring record with 45 points in 1982. In 1996, Dietz became the first women's basketball player inducted into the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor. And in 2009, she was inducted into the Academic All-America Hall of Fame.

1920–21 Michigan Wolverines mens basketball team American college basketball season

The 1920–21 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team represented the University of Michigan in intercollegiate college basketball during the 1920–21 season. The team won its first eight games and its last eight games to finish tied with the Purdue Boilermakers and Wisconsin Badgers for the Western Conference Championship. Arthur Karpus served as team captain. On January 29, 1921, the team began a 14-game winning streak against the University of Chicago that continued through a January 6, 1922, victory over Michigan State University, which was at the time known as Michigan Agricultural college. This stood as the longest winning streak in school history until 1985. The team was also involved in setting the longest road winning streaks at the time. It won on January 22, 1921, against Northwestern ending a 7-game road winning streak that had started on December 27, 1920, against the Louisville YMCA. Then on January 29, the team started another 7-game road winning streak against Chicago that lasted until a December 17, 1921, victory at Case. These two 7-game streaks stood as the school road winning streak record until 1985.

Royal R. Campbell

Royal Roderick "Scottie" Campbell was an American football and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Detroit—now the University of Detroit Mercy—from 1911 to 1912, at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois from 1913 to 1914, and at Alma College from 1921 to 1935, compiling a career college football record of 75–60–12. Campbell was also the head basketball coach at Detroit, Knox (1913–1915), and Alma (1921–1935), tallying a career college basketball mark of 218–120.

Josh Harrellson American basketball player

Josh Douglas Harrellson is an American professional basketball player for Osaka Evessa of the Japanese B.League. Standing 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m), he played center for the Kentucky Wildcats from 2008 to 2011. He was selected by the New Orleans Hornets as the 45th pick in the 2011 NBA draft, but was traded to the New York Knicks. He signed with the Miami Heat in 2012. In 2013, he joined the Brujos de Guayama in Puerto Rico, but he was released on May 18 so that he could join Chongqing Flying Dragons in the Chinese National Basketball League for a two-month period. In August 2013, Harrellson joined the Detroit Pistons.

Bacari Torrell Alexander is an American college basketball coach, formerly the men's basketball head coach at Detroit Mercy. He is a former assistant coach at Michigan, Western Michigan, Ohio, and Detroit Mercy. At Michigan, Alexander was responsible for coaching the team's post players, developing defensive strategies, scouting opponents and on-court coaching. In six seasons as an assistant coach under Michigan head coach John Beilein, Michigan advanced to the NCAA Tournament each year, won Big Ten Conference regular season championships in 2012 and 2014 and appeared in the Elite 8 in 2014 and the National Championship in 2013.

The 2018–19 Detroit Mercy Titans men's basketball team represented the University of Detroit Mercy during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Titans, led by first-year head coach Mike Davis, played their home games at Calihan Hall as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 11–20 overall, 8–10 in Horizon League play, ending in a 3-way tie for sixth place. As the No. 7 seed in the Horizon League Tournament, they lost in the quarterfinals to eventual tournament champion Northern Kentucky,

The 2019–20 Detroit Mercy Titans men's basketball team represented the University of Detroit Mercy in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Titans, led by second-year head coach Mike Davis, played their home games at Calihan Hall in Detroit, Michigan as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 8–23, 6–12 in Horizon League play to finish in ninth place. Due to low APR Scores, the Titans were ineligible for postseason play.
