Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), established in 1958, is a large organization for businesspeople in Dhaka, Bangladesh. [1]

Contents

History

Dhaka Muslim Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1936) and the United Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1947) merged in 1959 to form the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. [2]

DCCI has affiliations with various international organizations like UNDP, UNCTAD, WTO, ITC, ESCAP, UNIDO, USAID, CBI, World Bank, ICC, GTZ, JICA, ZDH, APO, IFC-BICF, JETRO, CIPE, SEDF, WCC, CCPIT.

DCCI Business Institute (DBI)

DCCI established a business institute named "DCCI Business Institute" (DBI) in 1999. DBI is fully controlled by a research-oriented professional body. [3]

He had previously served as the president of FBCCI, the body that regulates businessmen in Bangladesh, in 1979 and DCCI in 1976–1978.

Mohammad Mosaddak Ali, also known as Phalu, is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur and a politician who was a former parliamentarian from Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He served as the political secretary to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Begum Khaleda Zia between 2001 and 2004. He was responsible for building special relations and partnership for development between the government and the private sector that is interested in investing in new and highly potential industrial sectors, and introducing new products and services to local industries, at a time when Bangladesh's economic growth accelerated. In 2003, Ali launched Bangladesh's first automation-based private satellite television station NTV. He also founded another satellite channel RTV and Bengali daily newspaper Amar Desh. He is the founding President of Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).

Southeast Bank PLC. is a private commercial bank in Bangladesh. Alamgir Kabir is chairman of the bank and M Kamal Hossain is the managing director of the bank.

The World Trade Center Chittagong, is an unfinished 90.70 meters, 21-floor complex located in Agrabad Commercial Area, Chittagong, Bangladesh.
