Lucas Tucci di Grassi is a Brazilian racing driver who competes in the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship for Audi Sport ABT Schaffler. He became the FIA Formula E World Champion in 2016-2017, also achieved 3 overall podiums and best result ever for a Brazilian driver at Le Mans 24h, including a FIA WEC Vice World Championship in 2016, competed in FIA Formula 1 in 2010, Vice-Champion in FIA Formula 2 and World Champion of FIA Formula 3 at the Macau GP in 2005.

It was the first edition of the Buenos Aires ePrix and the fourth championship race of the single-seater, electrically powered racing car series' inaugural season. The race was won by António Félix da Costa.
The 2016–17 Formula E season was the third season of Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Formula E (FE) motor racing. The race was initially won by Lucas di Grassi, but later the win was handed to Jérôme d'Ambrosio because di Grassi's car was found to be underweight. This was d'Ambrosio's second Formula E win, after the 2015 Berlin ePrix, where he had also benefited from a disqualification of di Grassi.
