Din Within is an American Neo-progressive rock project which was formed in late 2004 by Mark Gollihur and Josh Sager. The duo remain the only core members of the "band," but they enlisted the help of guest musicians in the production of their critically acclaimed debut album, Awaken the Man, which was released by Zenwater Music/Digital Din on November 13, 2007.
The band's style, a blend of styles such as Symphonic rock, neo-prog, Album-oriented rock (AOR) and traditional Progressive rock, is heavily influenced by a large variety of progressive rock groups from both sides of the Atlantic and several decades, including the likes of Spock's Beard, Genesis, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Kansas and many more.
Prior to the release of their album, the members of Din Within were relative unknowns; previously, Gollihur co-founded and performed with Second Story, a well-regarded female-fronted symfo group which created good regional buzz and strong critical reviews, but failed to capture commercial success. Both Josh and Mark also performed in several other progressive bands and other groups throughout their youth and early adulthood.
A very early demo version of "Hey You (Part I)" appears on the benefit album The Tsunami Projekt ; the song is largely the same but had the original programmed drum tracks and earlier takes of the vocals and guitar tracks rather than the more polished version found on the 2007 release.
In 2012, a new tribute album to Yes, featuring "cover" versions from across the discography of the popular long-running band, featured Din Within's unique take on the song "Changes" (from 90125 ). Released by Mellow Records (Italy) in May 2012, it is a two-disc compilation featuring progressive rock bands from around the world.

IQ are a British neo-progressive rock band founded by Mike Holmes and Martin Orford in 1981 following the dissolution of their original band The Lens. Although the band have never enjoyed major commercial success and had several lineup changes, IQ have built up a loyal following over the years and are still active as of 2020, currently with the original recording line-up. In 2021/22, IQ are due to perform a series of concerts in the UK and Europe celebrating their 40th anniversary.
Song for America is the second studio album by American progressive rock band Kansas, released in 1975. The album was reissued in remastered format on CD in 2004. The 10-minute title track was edited down to three minutes for release as a single. The 45 R.P.M. edit resurfaced 29 years later as a bonus track on the remastered release, which provided improved sound as well as expanded liner notes, rare photos, and a live version of "Down the Road".
Masque is the third studio album by American progressive rock band Kansas. The album was released in September 1975 and was reissued in remastered format on CD in 2001. The album was again remastered and reissued on vinyl in 2014. The opening track, "It Takes a Woman's Love ", was remixed for release as a single, but failed to gain attention. The remix included additional guest vocals and contains segments far different from the album version.
Cybotron were an Australian electronic, experimental music band formed in 1975 by Steve Maxwell Von Braund on synthesiser, electronic percussion, and alto saxophone; and Geoff Green on keyboard, organ, and synthesiser. The group issued three studio albums, Cybotron (1976), Colossus (1978) and Implosion (1980) and disbanded by 1981. Australian musicologist, Ian McFarlane, noted that they were "a bona fide experimental outfit, and the band's eponymous debut album featured a mix of heavy synthesiser kinetics, organ drones and pulsating electronic beats".
"The Carpet Crawlers" is a song by the English progressive rock band Genesis, recorded for their sixth studio album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks wrote most of the music, with the help of Peter Gabriel. Lyrically, the song tells the section of the album's story whereby Rael, the lead character, finds himself in a red carpeted corridor surrounded by kneeling people slowly crawling towards a wooden door. Rael dashes by them towards the door and goes through it. Behind the door is a table with a candlelit feast on it, and behind that, a spiral staircase that leads upwards out of sight.

Presto Ballet is a progressive rock band founded by Metal Church guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof. Their sound is highly reminiscent of 1970s prog rock, as the band was founded chiefly as a tribute to classic progressive bands such as Yes and Kansas.
Theocracy is an American Christian progressive power metal band founded in 2002 by Matt Smith of Athens, Georgia. They have released four albums and multiple Christmas singles.
Hortus Animae is a progressive black metal band from Northern and Central Italy. They formed in 1997 in the town of Rimini (Romagna). After the release of their self-produced debut The Melting Idols, they began an active live streak with bands like Lacuna Coil, Ancient and Napalm Death. Upon opening for the cult Norwegian black metal band Ancient in Padova (Italy), the band developed a friendship with their drummer Grom, who soon after joined the band out of admiration for their work and made it his primary side-project. At this point the band began the recording process of their 2nd album and 1st official release Waltzing Mephisto which had been years in the writing. The album was recorded at the well known Italian metal studios Fear. Following the recording, the band signed deal with Greek label Black Lotus Records in October 2002 and subsequently with Sleaszy Rider Records (EMI) for their 3rd and most evolved concept-album The Blow Of Furious Winds in May 2005.
Thinking Plague is an American avant-garde progressive rock group founded in 1982 by guitarist/composer Mike Johnson and bass guitarist/drummer Bob Drake. Based in Denver, Colorado, the band has been active off and on since 1982, taking on a number of musicians over the years. They have made seven studio albums between 1984 and 2017, and released one live album recorded at NEARfest in 2000.

The Green Album is the debut album by English rock musician Eddie Jobson, released by Capitol Records in 1983. It is officially credited to Eddie Jobson and Zinc, Zinc being identified in press releases as a backing band consisting of Michael Cuneo (guitars), Jerry Watts (bass), and Michael Barsimanto (drums); however, none of the members of Zinc played on more than half the songs on the album, and only four tracks feature the entire group. Because of this, The Green Album is widely regarded as an Eddie Jobson solo album, similarly to how Runt is considered a Todd Rundgren solo album despite being credited to Runt.
"Back Street Luv" is a song by British rock band Curved Air, written by band members Ian Eyre, Sonja Kristina and Darryl Way. It was included on the Second Album and released as a single in July 1971 by Warner Bros. Records (K16092). On September 18 "Back Street Luv" reached number 4 in the UK Singles Chart, its highest position. In 1971 Warners also released it as a single in Netherlands (16092), Germany, France (16092) and Portugal (N-63-6). In 1975 a considerably more intense live version appeared on Curved Air – Live and was released as a single in the UK by Deram, but unlike the original recording it failed to make any commercial impact.

Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep is the eleventh studio album by American progressive rock band Spock's Beard. It is their first album with new singer Ted Leonard and drummer Jimmy Keegan in place of Nick D'Virgilio, while former member Neal Morse co-wrote two tracks, including "Waiting for Me", on which he plays guitar.
Machines Dream are a Canadian progressive rock band from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The group are defined by their accessible progressive rock sound, and recognition through the Internet. The band has functioned internationally despite geographic distance from their audience and – in 2016 – signed to Progressive Gears Records – a subsidiary of Progressive Gears Management – in Northern Ireland. Machines Dream was founded in 2008 and the current line-up consists of Craig West (Bass/Vocals), Brian Holmes (Keyboards), Phil Greco (Drums), Rob Coleman (Guitar), Keith Conway (Guitar), and Jake Rendell. Machines Dream released their self-titled debut in 2012, followed in 2014 with the sophomore album Immunity and digital EP 100 Afternoons. Their third album, Black Science, was released in 2016 to relative widespread praise from European radio stations and internet radio prog fans. A follow up to Black Science was Machines Dream's live off the floor recording at Revelle Studio's in their hometown. Following a hiatus after the release of Black Science, the band announced a new album would be released in early 2022.

The Oblivion Particle is the twelfth studio album by American progressive rock band Spock's Beard. It was released on August 21, 2015. It was the last album with drummer Jimmy Keegan, who left the band in October 2016 for personal reasons. This album also features Nick D'Virgilio, who returned to the band in February 2017. Only 3 songs on the album feature writing credits to the band members themselves, with the rest being credited to longtime collaborators Stan Ausmus and John Boegehold.
Invention of Knowledge is a studio album by Anderson/Stolt, a musical collaboration formed by singer-songwriters and musicians Jon Anderson and Roine Stolt. It was released on 24 June 2016 by InsideOutMusic. The project originated in 2014 after Anderson had performed with Stolt on a progressive rock-themed cruise, and the two decided to record an album. The recording process involved Anderson recording ideas in demo form in California and sending them online to Stolt in Sweden, who would develop music based on them. Invention of Knowledge was recorded in Sweden by several musicians, including Tom Brislin, Daniel Gildenlöw, and members of Stolt's band The Flower Kings.
Sight of Day is the twelfth album by English progressive rock band Mostly Autumn. As with many of the band's previous albums, the recording was funded through a pre-order campaign. Those who pre-ordered the album received a double-disc edition of the album, which was released on 10 February 2017. A single-disc edition of the album was made available for general release on 7 April.
